What I Am Loving Wednesday

  1. I am loving that my father-in-law was uninjured in yesterday's accident!! I am still finding it hard to believe that he escaped unharmed!
  2. I am loving my husband and I am soo happy that he is here with me still!! He usually rides with his Dad in his truck, but luckily he was not yesterday! I am also glad that he was able to take charge of the accident scene yesterday, even though one of his patients was his father! He is soo strong!! I love my firefighting husband!!
  3. I am loving that I am all done my Christmas shopping!
  4. I am loving that we finished wrapping all of our Christmas presents last night.
  5. I am loving that I am off for the entire week following Christmas!
  6. I am loving Christmas Miracles!!
Head on over to Jamie's and link up!!

Pictures From The Accident

Here are a few pictures of what the truck/backhoe and trailer looked like. They put new tires on the trailer, as they blew off with impact.

You can see the far wheel is no longer level. It is completely bent! Luckily the backhoe stayed attached to the trailer throughout the whole thing, as it rolled 4 times! CRAZY... This thing weighs like 7 tonnes. It jack-knifed before rolling, separating the truck from the trailer THANK GOD!

How luck is my father-in-law to walk away from this, with minimal bruising? Someone was watching over him yesterday! It truly is a miracle that he walked away! This accident could have been far worse.

Take care everyone and drive safe!!

First Christmas Miracle

Today I saw the end result of a Christmas Miracle. My father-in-law Ron was T-boned today and has walked away scratch-free. He was driving his work truck pulling a backhoe on a trailer. A young man ran the stop sign going 80+ km/hour. My poor, yet lucky husband watched the whole thing go down. Luckily my husband is a volunteer firefighter and knew just what to do, but he said to me that as he was running towards his Dad's truck, he thought he would be dead, along with the guy who hit him. I could not imagine. The truck hit Ron's passenger side with such force it caused the whole frame of the truck to shift, detaching the trailer carrying the backhoe, which then rolled 4 times and took out a hydro pole.

Ron has a sore side, where the middle console pushed into him, but otherwise is absolutely fine! Praise God! The other guy who was 20 years old, had broken ribs, internal bleeding and a possible cracked spine. He was trapped in his truck and had to be cut out.

I have some pictures of the truck, trailer and backhoe to post as well, so you see just how lucky Ron is. Mike is lucky he wasn't the passenger, as he usually is. I will post the pictures tomorrow night.

Please people be considerate on the roads this holiday season. Drive safe.

Manic Monday!

Are we all up for another version of Manic Monday or what?

This weekend was CRAZY busy, but fun!

Friday night we went K and S's and played some euchre and then pulled out the Domino's Mexican Train! I had never played domino's, but WOW was it ever FUN! M had to work on Saturday, so we did not stay late, which was kind-of nice to have a nice low key evening with great friends!

Saturday, I headed into town in the morning and hit up the market for some fresh cut flowers, swung by the grocery store and picked up the last minute baking needs. I also picked up a few more Christmas presents and I am officially done! While picking up the last few presents, I could not help but to pick up a nice new pair of knee high boots on sale, and of course I needed to get a new pair of pants to go with them. You will never believe what I ended up buying... I bought my first pair of SKINNY JEANS in black. I never thought I would see this day, but I did it... I broke down and bought them for the boots and well, I won't lie, they look pretty damn good! AND they are SUPER comfy!

Late Saturday morning I started my baking, and had my mini melt down on the kitchen floor. My letter to Grandma goes into detail about that. The cookies turned out great, however decorating them did not fair so well. For some reason my icing did not turn red, it went pink... and well lets just say they looked like a Hawaiian themed Christmas cookie. Not to mention how frustrated I was, my husband showed up home from work with a snow blower! He snow blowed the driveways and the front paths, which was no big deal, as I had let him know that I needed his help. I began to lose my patience when the icing was giving me problems and when I noticed my husband snow blowing the back lawn... the lawn people... this man had a grin on his face from ear to ear... but he was snow blowing the lawn, while I needed him inside! Not impressed! He came inside shortly after and I fully expected him to come in and help, but no, he brought the snow blower home in the backhoe and had to return it to the farm and pick up his truck. I was even more so NOT impressed!

Mike finally got home, I blew up on him for not helping, as I was encountering problem after problem with the damn icing, in which case I decided we are only decorating 1 cookie per plate, instead of all of them! That would be when I realized that I did not have enough cookies to give out to everyone I had intended on. However I did not have enough time to make another batch, as we had dinner plans for 5:30 over at J and A's. So I quickly got ready and we were off. What a great night we had at J and A's. That was the first night in a long time where time flew and it was 2 AM before we were headed home. Luckily we only live around the corner.

Sunday M worked on the pool table with my Dad and I worked on baking more cookies. When M was finished, my dad headed home and together we finished and decorated the cookies and then we were off to deliver them.

Today I had a nice low-key day, S came over for a visit and that was pretty much all I did. I also had an argument with Old Navy on the phone, as I still have not received my order from December 12, which was well guaranteed by the 23rd. They told me that I would not be receiving it until the 29th! I argued and will hopefully now be getting my order by the 23rd.

That was my weekend all summed up. Only 3 more days of work!! My boss switched my days for me, so I get Christmas Eve off now, and work on the Thursday instead. Fantastic!!

Dear Grandma,

Dear Grandma,

It has been waay to long since we last talked. I miss you and I wish I could have phoned you up or even visited on the weekend. We could have made cookies together.

Grandma, I really needed you this weekend. It just wasn't the same without you. I was making YOUR chocolate chip cookies, with YOUR mix master and all of YOUR spatulas and mixing cups. I have NEVER made this recipe without you or your stuff. Although I had your material items and recipe, I was missing YOU more than ever. I may have at one point sat on the kitchen floor and cried my eyes out.

Remember how you always used to warn me about the spinner on the mix master, how you have to hold the bowl and your spatula or else the bowl will spin like crazy.... well I needed you to remind me of that, because on my first batch I ended up with cookie dough EVERYWHERE! Just like the good old times. I remembered to taste the dough as I went to make sure I had enough sugar and remembered to add that little touch as I went.

It is crazy that I have not made these cookies since we last made them together. I guess I didn't realize how hard it would be without you.

Grandma, I know you don't like it when I cry, but I suppose they were much needed tears. I remember at your funeral, when I got up to speak, you always used to tell me "Don't cry, be a big girl", well Grandma I made it through your funeral with minimal tears, but today, let me tell you I shed quite a few, but not because my sister hit me or was leaving me out, it was because I MISS YOU.

The cookies turned out great, they taste JUST like yours. Funny how I remember the taste of  YOUR cookies, as if we were sitting in you kitchen (on Dufferin) counting down the time on your egg timer until we could try one! I didn't sneak too much cookie dough either, which is the weird part.. it felt like you were really with me on Saturday, because I still felt that someone was watching me as I snook the cookie dough, and couldn't help but to look around.

Well Grandma, I miss you, and I wish you were still here.

Merry Christmas!

(Frantic Friday) Loving It Friday!

Well not REALLY Frantic, but busy! So this post will be short and sweet!! I have a crazy busy weekend planned and I am loving it! I love all this holiday hoopla! So tonight we are heading to K and S's house for some holiday cheer and cards, Saturday morning I am hoping to wake up early and head to the market, as well as pick up a few last minute items that I forgot last night. And then I will be baking the afternoon away and might even fit in a few deliveries! We have dinner Saturday night over at J and A's house with N & K. Looking forward to that. Sunday we plan to deliver our Christmas baking to a few people here and there. I may also swing by my sisters and take some Christmas pictures of sweet Hannah! Why? Because I love that kid!

Sound crazy? But fun!

I just found out that I will have Christmas Eve day off, which is sweet because we have a party to go to the night before!

Hmm.. what else can I cram in here? Oh how about the fact that I spent over $60 at BULK BARN? Am I crazy... yes... I will go into more detail about that on Monday, if I remember!

Oh and today... M made my lunch, I was rushing and forgot half of my lunch in the fridge! So much for cheese melts! I have crackers and well a plate! Good thing I had 4 Bagel Bites left in the freezer at work... light lunch that is for sure! Oh and I am drinking my last Arizona Iced Tea (Raspberry)... sad day! I can't wait to hit up Michigan in the New Year!

Oh also turn up your speakers... Glee Christmas has hit up my blog! Oh and did I mention that I am LOVING that too?  I should have done a post on Loving It Friday! Actually, I think I might change the title right now... I am random!

Ok, that's all I got! Happy Weekend before Christmas!!

Super Diva!

No not me.... although I used to be, but now a little miss has taken my duty. My sister emailed me these pictures yesterday of my niece/God-daughter.

Her shirt reads Super Diva, how fitting. Lately she has been loving dressing herself. And the hat is just the icing on the cake folks... she LOVES it. I thought maybe it was cold at my sisters, but I had a hard time believing that because I am always SUPER hot at her place. This girl also has a shoe fetish. One shoe on is just priceless.

Look at that innocent little face!

And the one thing you may not have noticed that just MAKES the picture... is that she is wearing my sisters underwear on top of her clothes!

Apparently she was having a bad hair day too... if only I could sport a hat like hers!

Did I mention she is only 22 months!! She is just growing up into a little lady right before my eyes!

Love this kid!!

Perhaps these pics will go with todays title, just incase you were doubting the little DIVA:

Excuse the bad pic of myself... but it's a good pic of her!

These last 3 were from Thanksgiving!

So What Wednesday...

Photobucket

Head on over to Mama Dew's and link up!!

Here it goes:

So WHAT IF:
  • I didn't put up a Christmas tree. We aren't entertaining this season and we just rearranged the furniture.. I am NOT moving it back!
  • I get home from work and put my pajama pants on right away? I just didn't feel like having to change again!
  • I ran out of windshield washer fluid on the highway and drove all the way home without it. I also made my husband fill it up when I got home. There was no way I was freezing my ass off to do it!
  •  I PVR my soap operas? (Days and GH)
  • My PVR contains like 20 episodes of Oprah and the VS fashion show... I will get around to watching it!
  • The treadmill kicked my ass once and I am now struggling to go back out and use it? I will get back on it soon... I promise.
  • I haven't done laundry in a week, which also includes putting it away. So we are living out of laundry baskets (of clean clothes), which I hate!
  • We only put our light up reindeer out front by itself, and only turned on our front porch lights in red and green for outside lights. We also left the red and green light in all year.
  • I am having a bad hair day/week? Are you really gunna tell me that to my face? Probably not, but just be aware that I know.
  • I am counting down the weeks till my winter holiday. 11 weeks!! It will be here before I know it RIGHT?
  • I look at Old Navy.ca everyday? I might find a good deal, in which case I would need to fill my cart with $50 worth for free shipping.
  • There is 9 days left to shop for Christmas and I am STILL not done! I only have a few things left.
  • I spell the word arrhythmia like 10 times in a day and every time I double check the spelling... and what is even worse is that a lot of people don't spell it right (including DOCTORS) on our req's, which makes me triple check!
  • It took me 10 separate trips to various stores, leaving empty-handed to pick out a Hannah's 1st Barbie, which I ended up purchasing at the FIRST store I went to. I originally wanted it to be super special, but then realized she is only 22 months and will probably rip it to shreds, so I should buy her a cheapo one now and a good one later! BTW I am terribly disappointed in Barbies now a days!
  • So what if my cat has a double chin (Jazz) and needs a tummy tuck at the age of 6. Poor kitty just has some extra skin. At least she lost weight right?

Top 2 Tuesday!

I have hopped on over to Taylor's blog and thought I would join in on this weeks top 2.

This week's subject is: Top 2 Games:
  1. UNO! I love this game!! It is awesome! I could play it non-stop! My sister and I could play for hours at end. Now they have made different versions of UNO and they are just as, if not, even more fun!
  2. Monopoly! I like long games! I don't like to play a game to be finished in 20 minutes. I just don't like losing this game, but hate cheaters!!
It was actually a bit of challenge picking JUST 2! I love board games! I love LIFE, Skip-Bo, Rumoli, Backgammon, Euchre, Racko, Taboo, etc.

Head on over and tag up!!

Just Another Manic Monday

Anyone else remember this song? I kind of like it for a blog title, in fact I am going to make it my Weekend Recap title from now on!!

So, where do I start? Friday night M went and picked up pizza and we had a mini date night catching up on this weeks TV together. It was actually pretty laid back and much needed during the hectic season!

Saturday M had to work, so I wrapped a few more presents and headed upstairs and worked on one of the closets, however I am nowhere near finished. We had the Santa Claus parade in the village that evening , which M was in and then we enjoyed a nice dinner at the restaurant with M's parents.

Sunday was busy. My MOH from the wedding was in town, so we managed to see her for a little bit before she headed back home up north. We are planning on traveling together come February/March. So pumped after this weekend's weather! We got quite a bit of snow in a short amount of time over night and storm brewing for all day on Sunday. The weather was crap, I won't lie! After C and S, with their sweet little dog Tux left, we called up J, knowing that M was out of town for the weekend and invited her out for breakfast at the restaurant (which is really good by the way). She happened to be with K (M's sister) so she came along too. We had a great breakfast. M and I then headed into town and bought a few things for dinner and more Christmas presents. In fact, we bought one present, carried it out the door and it BROKE! So we went back in and they are getting us another one. Now I cannot tell you what it was because it was a Christmas present, but how odd. The saleslady didn't believe us, until she looks at our receipt and saw the time on it. We headed home and started making dinner.

We had Mike's parents over for dinner for S's birthday! We made a nice chicken dinner and a chocolate cake. Nothing like a home cooked meal on Sunday. It is just the perfect way to start off a week in my opinion. We completed the night with a game of euchre and called it a night.

We were under a flash freeze warning and we definitely got it! It is freezing out and everything is frozen! The roads are crap and I am glad I don't have to work! However, I did venture over to the post office by foot and it was slippery and cold, but my package was in!! One more Christmas present down!!

I just have a few more to go! I hope everyone had a safe weekend!!

Debating...

I have been debating since last night whether or not to blog about a BIG case happening in the town I grew up in. The case is harsh and insensitive, but at the same time I feel very strongly about it. So I have decided to blog about it a bit. I will forewarn you that what I am about write is very upsetting and reader's discretion is in effect from this point on.

Last April, as some of you may know a little girl named Tori Stafford was abducted in broad daylight. They made 2 arrests in the case, in which one of them plead guilty and the other one did not. The one who plead guilty has been charged and faces lifetime in prison. There has been a publication ban up to this point because of the trial. The court has denied the publication ban, so now the media is going wild with information. The accused pleading not guilty has not had his day in court yet.

This case was upsetting when it happened. All of Woodstock was searching for this little girl that walked home by herself for the first time. The case was even shown on America's Most Wanted. Finally they found her, 1 month later. I have been reading the newspaper articles, which you can find here . This story is horrible and harsh and it is terribly upsetting.

Just now, almost a year later, it has been thrown back into the community to deal with the happening of this little girl. I don't know how the family copes, because I know I wouldn't know where to pick up. It is good to know what has happened for closure for the community and family, but to read the reasoning behind why and what happened is sickening.

One comment the killer said was: "I didn't wake up that morning thinking I was going to take a child". How disgusting... who the hell would?  Another comment made when asked if she understood her plea, she commented with "It seems like the right thing to do." An innocent child was brutalized and killed and you can't even explain your actions? I am just honestly disgusted. You should have realized it was wrong to do any of it in the first place? Not only was wreckless with her own life, she has now been wreckless with an innocent child, thier family and our community. It is us who have to pick up the pieces. It is us who now question the integrity of everyone around us.

The whole case and happenings has not been published yet, because of the partial publication ban, because the guy has not had his day in court yet and he is pleading not guilty.

I just don't understand how people can do such horrible things? It is just sickening. Things like this are not supposed to happen. I grew up in a small town, where you pretty much know the people around you. This case had taught the community a lot, but at a horrible expense.

Meanwhile, this girl will goto jail, will probably still be given her meth (she was a member of the methadone clinic), and she will be given counselling, education, 3 meals a day, etc. She may have to deal with what she did, but she had a choice... Tori didn't. Tori doesn't get to have an education, 3 meals, a family, fun, or even the chance to grow up. That little girl went through something that no one should go through and it all happened just because...

I could go on and on about this. But I will stop at that. I am sure this case will be mentioned again when the guy is sentenced.

Just hold your kids a little tighter..

Dear Treadmill

Dear Treadmill:

I just wanted to thank you in advance for all of your hard work. I realize how hard it must be to motivate and keep someone moving continuously when they are as lazy as myself.

I hope that I will be able to continue this adventure with you, although I am not sure I want to.... it really is a love/hate relationship right now. I love the way I feel right after, but I hate the way I feel the next day. I hear that gets better though? I think we need to set up regular dates. Although we should probably not tell my husband, even though he is not the jealous type, he would notice me trimming up and wonder why I am sure.

I am doing this for myself. My husband prefers women with "some meat on their bones" as he puts it. I am just trying to lessen the meat, if ya know what I mean. I realize how hard this is going to be, but with the right motivation and commitment I am sure we can work something out.

I just hope you realize how hard your job is going to be and that I really rely on you to push me, even if it involves me increasing the speed/incline button. I think it is the amount of guilt you display by putting it in number form on the screen in front of me and blinking it every so often. Incline of 2 doesn't sound that high. I am the kinda girl that aims high.... and I have realized tonight that may not workout for me just quite yet. 10 is for experienced.... TRUST me... and for speed, well I do have long legs you see, but I am not quite a runner yet, unless someone is behind me literally pushing me, but I gave it my best... 5.5 is just not for me yet...

Well treadmill... thanks for kicking my ass tonight and making me work so hard that it hurts... no really, thank you. The pleasure is all YOURS.

Take care and see you soon,

Love:

OUT OF SHAPE...

(Don't judge people... don't judge... I know I suck, but one day I will get better....)

Thoughts for Thursday

Where do I start?
  • How about how my legs reacted to the cold after our walk last night with the dogs? Ok..most of you know that I HATE cold... I may over-react about how horrible it makes me feel... but there was no faking it this time. My legs (underneath my pants) were itchy and INFERNO! I wanted to rip them off! I showed M and declared that I was officially allergic to winter!
  • While on the topic of our walk, I need new boots, you know ones with treads on the bottom? My 4 year old airwalks have sucked in the tread department since day 1, but they are comfy and warm! I am hoping that have got better since, because I need new ones!
  • Victoria Secret fashion show was on again last night and since I missed it last time, I PVR'd it this time. I don't think M will let me erase it now though! But on the bright side it really motivates me to work out seeing those skinny in shape girls!
  • Is anyone watching Sing Off? For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, it is an a-cappella competition, kind of like glee clubs! Pretty decent (on NBC on Mondays and Wednesdays).
  • Can anyone stand the Brittany character on Glee? She drives me CRAZY!
  • I am getting a manicure today!! Very much needed by the way... it was actually challenging typing this!
  • I am a week behind on Days of Our Lives, however it looks like I will have no problem catching up because pretty much all of my TV shows on in the evening are done until the new year.
  • Ok I need some help... I am hosting our typical new years party, but I wanted to come up with some easy and fun ideas for the table. We are doing fondue I believe!
  • Did I mention how much I hate the COLD? I know, I know it isn't even THAT cold yet, just -10 but it is cold people, I need to move somewhere warm!
  • I finally have an idea for a gift for hubby! I obviously can't tell ya yet... but it was tricky finding out if he wanted it. I also may or may not have threatened to spend the budget on myself instead of him if he didn't give me any ideas.
  • I would like to find a bra that lifts and separates... who knew how hard it is to find such a thing?
  • I need to get motivated... presents need to be bought and wrapped, closets upstairs are screaming for a clean out, back basement bins and boxes NEED to be gone through.. and well lets face it, it ain't happening on its own! DAMN!
  • I love my hubby and our life! I love our dogs and our cats. They really do make my day everyday!
  • I have done really well with self-control at work. My boss Christmas'd the office and put a candy jar right in front of me containing my favorite chocolates: Hershey's kisses! I have only had 2 so far!!

Snow and Soo Much More... (Not really)

Olivia made these snazzy buttons, so I figured I would flaunt one since I was featured on her blog and you can find the post HERE. Thanks soo much Olivia!!

Also on today's list of topics (in my mind) is all of the snow that has been falling around me. Yup AROUND me, as in we have lucked out with next to none! I have a lot of family in London, ON and they are just getting hammered with snow! Almost a whole meter. They are considering calling a state of emergency because it is not supposed to stop! My mom just recently moved there and she can't believe all the snow! I couldn't either until I saw the pictures:

Nowhere to put snow!
This is just funny!

Somewhere there is a fence....
I found all of those pictures on the Weather Network that various Londoners have posted! CRAZY! My sister even has a lot of snow... like snow blowing worthy... NOT US!! London is only 45 minutes away... my sister is only 20 minutes... we are just LUCKY! My mom is a tall woman and she said the snow on her balcony is waist high! CRAZY!

I know, I know too much use of the word CRAZY... but seriously!

Yesterday I enjoyed Pizza Hut Lunch buffet with J and K, because of the snow, all of the schools were closed, so J didn't hafta teach and K didn't either! Then I headed over to M's for a catch up! Lets just say I did not end up accomplishing too much on the home front!

I have picked my vacation time, which is also exciting because we are travelling with my MOH from my wedding, along with her boyfriend! We are thinking of Dominican again! Nothing is set in stone, we are thinking of booking last minute. Has anyone done this? Any insight out there?

Well that is all I have for now.

Party, Shop, Party, Shop!

Well, fear not friends, my Friday got better, as did my weekend!! In fact, I had a fantastic weekend!! The title of the post pretty much sums up my weekend! I managed to have a weekend full of what I love doing most! We had a great weekend with great friends!

Friday I came home from work and quickly threw my hair in curlers, changed my outfit, and put on some makeup. I headed over to the fire hall to help decorate. Much to our surprise, the hall was mostly decorated already, we just had to decorate the tree. Then I was off to the pie party! All the pies I had made were great! We had a great night with great friends! We also ended up with A LOT of snow!

Saturday, Mike was helping M with delivering salt in the morning and I started to make a list of gifts I had left to purchase. J showed up around 11:30, much to my surprise, luckily I was showered and half ready to go because I guess Mike and M had made plans for us all to go out for lunch. We just headed to the local restaurant, which is finally licensed! Mike enjoyed his first beer at the restaurant!! Mike and I headed into town to purchase some gifts, including the gifts for the game that we were playing at the Christmas party later that evening! We also ended up meeting up with my sister at Wal-Mart, who had Hannah with her (of course) so I whisked Hannah off to the toy isle and had her pick out her Christmas present!! I had already got her the Barbie car and was searching for the perfect Barbie still, but she ended up picking a Baby Alive doll. We headed back home, where I once again threw my hair in curlers, put on some makeup and got dresses. M wrapped up the presents and we were off to the party.

We had a great time at the party and the after party! The gift game is always fun. We ended up with the wine glasses I had purchases and LOVED (I stole them from someone..). Mike ended up with "Man of Steel" underwear and black rubber gloves with sequences... the gloves are pretty cool... the underwear... NOT so cool... However, it did not stop my husband from putting them on ON TOP of his pants later on in the evening.... giving himself a new nickname now... I need to find a way to regift these underwear for someone else at the hall!

Sunday we went and grabbed some groceries and then headed to Cambridge with M and J to do some more Christmas shopping. We had great luck!! I found a few great deals and finished my sister, Hannah is almost done as well and Mike's mom. I went to a store called Urban Barn...LOVE this store!! I bought new place mats, as well as a wall sticker. We finished at East Side Marios for dinner and headed home.

Well that pretty much sums it all up! I still have my Mom and Dad to shop for, along with my brother-in-law and MIKE. I am totally lost when shopping for him this year and then today he tells me he BLEW the budget.... how am I soo easy to shop for? And why is he sooo hard to shop for this year?

Also, on a side note, we left Lux out for the first time while we were not home on Sunday, which I was kind-of worried about and much to my surprise he was fine, in fact he was more than fine... we came home to this:

Also, I am a featured blogger on Olivia's blog over at Simply Sunshine and Daisys. Thanks soo much Olivia!! I look forward to "Meeting" new followers!

Oh The Things I Do....

Bet ya my title has you wondering what I did now.... Sometimes I really wonder why I sign myself up for things and then fail miserably?

Yesterday I was ordering a Christmas present online and I was trying to use a promo code for a discount, but for some reason it wouldn't work. So I phoned the company (which I cannot tell you because it was a Christmas present) and they put me through to the customer service department, who then asked me where I got the code, so I told her the site (retail mama) and she said that if I did not find the code on THIER website, then they could not use it. That is complete BULLCRAP! And I told her just that before asking her well what if I get it to work on thier website? She says: "All the power to you", in which case I finished the conversation with "Well aren't you a whole bunch of helpfullness? Merry Christmas to you!" and hung up! I tell ya, some people just should NOT work in customer service! Needless to say, I found a promo code that worked and saved some money ordering it online!

Then off to the farm I went, where I made 3 pies! 1 cherry and 2 pumpkins! I also made my graham cracker crumb crusts for my pies, which turned my fingers a funny color... haven't figured out why yet.. but it looks like I applied self-tanner and didn't wash my hands... The afternoon flew on by. We had a nice roast beef dinner and I headed home to make my cherry cheesecake pies.

Yup this next topic deserves a whole new paragraph!

Cherry Cheesecake Pies = DISASTER... but how? I did a trial run and it worked great and tasted amazing! I made the filling (doubled the recipe for 2pies), put it in my crusts and then added the cherries on top and they sunk! I miserably failed making those damn cheesecakes! I was upset. M came home and I told him and he immediately asked if I followed the recipe. I snapped on him. YES I followed the recipe. He is always on my case about cooking/baking and I just knew he was going to upset me further by questioing my actions, whether he meant to or not. I guess I am just sensitive about it! I just want to be good at it, and I know I can be.... I know everyone makes mistakes and it happens when baking... but I guess I lack the confidence, I assume, just as my husband does, that I suck at it and surprise myself when it works. I need to work on this...we need to work on this... I need to give M a reason to believe in my cooking and it would maybe be a great start if I instilled faith in myself!

M went and got me more supplies and I redid the recipe and used already made pie crusts and it worked, the cherries rested nicely on top and they look great! The only thing I can think of to cause my disaster is that it is one of the recipes that maybe you cannot double! So my pies are ready to go, I have a total of 4 pies in my fridge... 2 of which will go with me tomorrow night and 2 for M and I to eat... they do still taste good!

Did anyone else cry while watching Private Practice last night? Maybe I was just an emotional wreck after my disaster... but when Cooper freaked out on Charlotte I cried, when Addison was holding the baby I cried and when Naomi  hugged Charlotte. I also cried when Addison paid the druggy and when she decided to wait on having a baby, as well as when Cooper said he is not in love with the "new" Charlotte! I was actually mad about that.

I also feel horrible about the Fireman's Christmas party tomorrow night. I had asked my Dad to engrave some mugs and wine glasses and he said he would, no problem. Well his machine broke while doing them and I just found out TODAY! So now the gifts will not be done in time! I had told the Ladies Aux that they would be... I failed miserably! My Dad said he can still do them, but there is no way he can have them done for tomorrow. He may end up having to hand engrave them all, but he said next week! I just feel horrible! I know it is entirely out my control, but I still feel bad! My Friday is not panning out so good so far...

I hope everyone is having a better Friday then myself! The one good thing is that it is pie night TONIGHT!! Mmmhmm!

Finally Friday: November Style!!

  • Start Christmas shopping  - I have got a good start on this one!!
  • Sell washer and dryer - I have had interest, but no sale yet!!
  • Get back gardens cut down
  • Steam clean all carpets and rugs in the house - I was very impressed with this one!! It was crazy seeing all that dirt come out!!
  • Set up pool table in hobby shop - it is in the process of being built again - sitting at stage one right now, but I am pretty much counting it as done, as it is in place and in process!
  • Start to set up MY corner in the hobby shop for scrapbooking and what not - moved the furniture in place, but haven't brought all of my stuff out yet! I am counting this as done too, because I have it set up, just have to fill it now!
  • Move TV and satellite box out to hobby shop
  • Start decorating the house for Christmas - decided not to put up tooo much this year, as we are not entertaining on the home front, but will be putting up a few, including a tree in the basement I think.
  • Get a new "dressy" winter coat - I did buy a new coat, it is just not a "winter" coat!
  • Dye hair DARK brown - it's brown now, but the red tones are coming back to haunt me... I am a natural brunette, but ever since I started dying my hair, red tones seem to be coming through more and more! - Love the new color!! It is sooo dark, but fantastic!!
  • Finish Hannah's curtains (one panel left)
  • Get Christmas cards made (hopefully by Shutterfly) - vetoed this one... just normal stationary going out for this one!
  • Reach 35 followers. - Wow did we ever accomplish this one... and I said "we" because we ALL made it happen!!! Thank you, Thank you Thank you!!
