Where There is Something Good....

Yes, today was the royal wedding and Kate looked beautiful! I personally did not get up to watch the wedding but may watch it later on.

The Royal Wedding Album

However, as exciting as the wedding is, it has really taken away from this:

(The owners of this dog lost thier lives and the dog is injured.. heartbreaking...)

Over 300 people have died and that number is only increasing! Tons of people and pets are still missing. This is just devastating! I could not imagine picking up the pieces of my life that have been literally strewn around as if they were nothing. These people worked hard for what they had and now have to start all over again... life is NOT fair!

I know how easy it is to surround ourselves with happy things in life, like the wedding, but where there is something good happening in the world, there is something horrible happening as well. Let us not forget.

So congrats to Kate and Will. I hope they really do live their happily ever after.

Please continue to pray for those people's lives who have misplaced and torn apart, as well as those who are missing and the families of the deceased. Bless the hearts of those who are able and willing to help pick up the pieces! I could not even imagine what these people are going through.

Thoughts For This Thursday....

What a Thursday I tell ya! But let's rewind to Wednesday for a minute!

My Dad was in a bad car accident last night, he was t-boned twice, hit a tree and then a house in his work truck! A lady ran a stop sign, pushing him into oncoming traffic and screwing up his steering, which then sent him into the tree and house. Luckily he is okay, just a little sore!! Actually everyone involved was okay! I think that man is running out of lives though I tell ya! I will post the pictures when I get them! Crazy world out there! Drive safe please!

The weather yesterday was a bit extreme as well yesterday! Not as extreme as Alabama or other states, but it was pretty wicked here. There is tons of wind damage and a possible tornado touch down 20 minutes from my house! CRAZY! But we did get up to 22 degrees Celsius!!

Now as for today..

I got up early because once again I am working on a Thursday, which just happens to throw off my week! So as I am getting up, M's fire pager goes off for hydro poles down, fire started and well that is all I heard before he ran out of the house! Oh the trials and tribulations of being a volunteer fire fighter's wife! So I hopped in the shower and the power went out just as I was rinsing the conditioner from my hair! GREAT! So my hair is well-conditioned today and will need to be rinsed out tonight when I get home! It is sooo conditioned that my hair products are not really working, it seems to have just slipped off! Needless to say my hair is wavy today.

It is super duper windy. I decided I better leave early, as I am in clinic today and it is about an hour away. As I was leaving, M was coming home. He warned me to drive safe, as the wind was wicked and knocking down power lines, trees, etc. So I gave him a quick kiss goodbye and went on my way! What M didn't tell me to watch out for was flying objects, objects that do not normally fly, like SHEDS! Thanks to my defensive driving skills, I managed to avoid being hit by this big steel shed that blew across the road! For a minute I thought I was in the beginning of the Wizard of Oz (one my favorite classic movies). I saw several trees, hydro poles/lines, signs, and debris fallen all over the place! What a mess! I made to clinic and the power was flickering like crazy.

I finished up in clinic and headed back to the office, finding more trees, hydro lines and signs down. Crazy weather I tell ya!

I am pumped that Greys is back on tonight, as well as Private Practice I hope, presuming I will have power and satellite!

M and I have to go buy a new toilet tonight too, as M's is not working properly and we have a houseful of company coming on Saturday night for Card Night! I hope we can find one that we like for a reasonable price!

Also, please keep those caught in the storms in the states in mind and in prayer. Such a tragedy in Alabama especially!

I am linking up for What's Your Song again this week over at Goodnight Moon and Sarah @ We're Just Like You Only Prettier

Photobucket

This week I am picking "How Great Thou Art" by Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill! Enjoy!!! (Don't forget to pause the music at the bottom of my blog before hitting play, if the music on my page still works for you... I need to get a new player that will play in Canada)

I hope everyone has a great Thursday!!

What I Am Loving Wednesday!

I know... 2 blog posts in a day, but I just HAD to link up with Jamie to tell you all about the things I am loving this week!

Where shall I start?

I am loving the weather that we are finally getting! Although it has been raining the last couple of days, it is getting warmer!! Last night M and I walked the dogs and ran into K and J with Keg and Malakie. Today it is supposed to be 19 degrees Celsius, with a chance of thunderstorms, but 19 people, that is exciting!

I am loving the upcoming renovation and getting main floor laundry! I know I have not posted the after pics of my bedroom yet, but soon, I promise!!

I am loving that all of my tulips are coming up in my garden! My daffodils have bloomed, as have some others.

I am loving the black dress below from Sears! Yes, SEARS! I don't often shop there, but that little black dress is convertible and only $40!! Yes, I will be ordering that soon!!

I also may have found a dress for the upcoming weddings this summer. They are on the same day and one is formal! See the purple spaghetti strap one? I was thinking of it! I love how it gathers at the bottom! Only $90!! And I would match Mike's suit for the wedding (he is in the wedding party of one of them)! Sears might just come through for me!

I am also loving my new background and banner! So for all you reading in the google reader, check out my blog! I have a new design and header and it is awesome!! I am pretty much in love with grey and yellow right now!

I am loving this man and this picture:

Oh and I miss Dominican!!

I am loving the ideas bouncing around my head for sewing projects! I need to write them all down before I forget them and even more importantly get them started and finished!!

Oh and don't forget to check out my earlier post from this morning about never being boring!

Never Boring I Tell Ya!

So, while M and I were driving to my Aunt's for Easter, we started talking about how our lives would be different without each other. I told M his life would definitely be boring without me! So we started discussing some of the things he never would have done without me!

A few things that came up:
  • Trying to catch a Muscovy duck that I saw on the side of the road on my way home from work. We don't have these ducks in our area, so I knew it had to be domestic, however ONCE we found it, it was mean and IMPOSSIBLE to catch! We did waste an hour of our time trying.
  • I brought home this dog:

It was running in an out of traffic on a highway, so of course I pulled over, opened up my hatchback and it hopped right in! This dog was HUGE, as you can see in the picture, his feet are like monster feet! The dog was in really poor condition too! It was wet, smelt horrible, was skinny, had mattes all over. The picture was taken after we bathed him, clipped and brushed him! Oh I forgot to mention the funny part... I called Mike to tell him that I needed him to meet me in the driveway when I got home (which was our small old house) and that I had picked up a dog on my way home. While I was driving, the dog was trying to come up into the front seat of my car, there was one point where I had to pull over because I could not see out the window because the dog was standing on me. The dog also managed to turn on my four ways at one point! I hung up the phone on Mike and just booked it home! I had no idea what I was going to do with this dog, we already had 2 dogs at home, 2 big dogs (Diamond and Lily). So after calling around and refusing to take him into the shelter outside of town (it has a bad rap), we decided we would just hold on to him for the night and figure things out after work the following day. We tried putting him in the kennel, but that did not go over well. He was whining and pacing and he kept trying to get up on the bed with M and I. We finally gave up the fight and let him sleep with us. (Once again, the things we do...) The next day, we put Lily in her crate and left Diamond and the mystery dog free range in the house. We had the window in the room that Lily's crate was in open a CRACK. Off to work we went. I got a message at work that the dog we had rescued was found roaming again, so the person who found it just put it in the back yard. I freaked... the dog was in my house and was no longer in my house? How the hell did it get out? Luckily M's mom worked just down the street, so she went to my house to check on things and sure enough the dog was gone. He broke out the window that was opened a crack, which then allowed the cats to get out of the house! M's mom finally caught the cats and secured the house until we could get home.

I had got an ad put into the local paper before the dog escaped and received a phone call that night from the dog owner. I explained that the dog had broke out of my house and that I was no longer caring for him and then laid into them for not taking better care of their dog! Turns out they live near by where I picked the dog up! They thanked me for my time and energy wasted.

Oh the damage was minimal... the dog managed to push the window open and popped the screen off.

Sometimes we drive by the house and see them! Oh and in case you are wondering what kind of dog it was... Irish Wolfhound crossed with a Malamute/ Mastiff mix. Never would have guessed that one!

What can I say.... our life is NEVER boring!!

Have you ever got yourself into any interesting situations?

I Heart Faces Photo Contest: Pets

I Heart Faces - Photo Challenges & Photography Tutorials

I have started following a new blog and I decided to enter the photo contest this week!

The theme this week is "Pets". I am only able to enter one picture, so I have decided on this one. (It was a tough decision)

This is Lily @ 8 weeks!

Tail Wagging Tuesday!

Topic for Tail Wagging Tuesday is:

WHERE THEY SLEEP

Gracie and Lily sleep together! They LOVE to cuddle with each other! We have beds all throughout the house for the girls to lay on. I made them a king size dog bed for the great room, which they are laying on in the picture above. They have beds in the bedroom, in the hobby shop, in the basement, Lily has one in her kennel, Gracie has blankets and they have travel beds for the cars.

I also made dog bed liners to go inside the beds for when they wet, which is EVERY weekend in the summer at the lake! No more smelly wet dog smelling beds! I made a post about how to make those HERE.

The dogs also love to sleep in our bed, however we don't really allow that anymore since they are sooo big! But every now and then I let them get up and cuddle with me when M's not home!

Happy Tail Wagging Tuesday!!

Easter Monday

So instead of Manic Monday, I am doing Easter Monday to recap Easter weekend!

So I got a bonus day at work last week and worked on Thursday, because Friday was a holiday! Thursday night Mike and I went out for dinner with M after Mike brushed a few lawns in the village, including ours! I was super impressed, the company that M does this for came down and they even raked out my garden!!! SUPER IMPRESSED!!

Friday morning Mike was up early to brush some more lawns while the weather was co-operating! In the afternoon we headed down to the lake. When we got about half way there it started to rain and M's dad phoned us and told us we didn't need to come down! However, since we were halfway there, we decided to keep on heading down and we would eat out for dinner at the Turkey Point Hotel! Dinner was pretty good, we let the girls take a wet run on the beach, since it was raining... but overall a nice day!

I also managed to get caught up on Parenthood, although the season is over, I am pretty much addicted and cannot wait until fall for it to start back up!

Saturday morning I got up early and headed into town for a much needed manicure! Now my nails are pretty in pink, well the tips are pink with gold little sparkles! I headed home to find M cleaning the kitchen, so of course I let him finish and then we headed into town to do some groceries and pick some paint colors for our new mudroom to be! We also grabbed some hardware for our dressers. They look fantastic, now we just have to stain the dressers.

These are the colors we are considering: HERE. However, only one of the purples. Our trim, cupboards, wardrobe, washer and dryer are white, we have not picked our floor yet... we are stuck on this one! What do you think? The colors seen are not exact, but the closest I can find online that look similar! The green I want is a bit lighter.

We also went out for lunch with A and E and H! Here is a little picture of what went down:

Hannah had her first lemon and she LOVED it! She also got to try Iced Tea (sweet tea for all you American readers)
We popped by the grocery store and headed home. K and S stopped by so K could help M make a shopping list for the things we need for the new mudroom! I had my first drink out on the patio with S. The weather was gorgeous!! We had a nice quiet evening. M made the best steak EVER for dinner - they were absolutely fantastic! Later on, M and I headed over to N and K's for the first bonfire of the year! M and N got a medical call halfway through the night, but were not gone for too long!

Sunday morning we went to K and S's to brush their lawn and then went home to get ready for Easter. We made a Cesar salad and mini wraps with BBQ Ranch chicken, Asiago chicken and salsa wraps. We decided that we would swing by the hospital to visit my Grandma. All I will say on that topic is I do not look forward to turning 90. Her body is just failing her and shutting down, but she was in pretty good spirits considering. She was a bit confused though, she asked me if I was on my second marriage... Ha! I told her no, that I was still married to Mike, which is funny because she didn't even recognize M and she LOVES him and always tells me that he is her boyfriend! She is always telling me that I have a good man! She did remember my wedding though, although her recollection is a bit funny because she thinks we got married in a field, when it was M's parents backyard at the farm, but I can see how she would think of that as a field I suppose! She also told me I was getting skinnier! Bonus!

She said one thing that I want to be able to remember forever, especially when she is no longer here. I brought her pink tulips in a pot and she said: "One day I will be a tulip you know" so we asked her what color and she said she would be a pink tulip. I told her that was my favorite color and she smiled sincerely! Pink tulips will be dear to my heart.

When we got home around 9:45ish, K and J invited us over for a bonfire and puppy play date, which was a nice way to end the evening! I think this summer will be a big bonfire season, however there will be no complaints from me... maybe my doctor though, but you only live once! It's not easy being healthy I tell ya, especially when you have bad lungs, among other things.

I went to type this post earlier, but ended up going into town with J and then out for lunch with J and K!

I hope everyone had a great Easter!!

Thoughts for Thursday!

Today is not my typical Thursday! In fact, I am working today! Which means no 5 day weekend for me, just 4... shucks!! lol So the rest of this post will be in bullet form:

  • Poor Little Lux is getting fixed today :( He is losing his manhood and this is what he thinks about it:
I told him there is nothing to be ashamed of!!
  • He was also locked up last night because he was not allowed food or water after 10 PM... poor little guy is just not a happy camper!
  • We had a hectic morning this morning, this is how it went down... I woke up to M's pager going off for a medical call. (He was already up and eating breakfast.) I had my shower, was walking around the house trying to get dresses, do my hair, get my lunch going, etc. M comes home, he is wondering around the house trying to get ready and we are both tripping over Binx, who is having a melt down because Lux is locked up. So now, instead of just having one crying cat, we have 2. Once we were ready, I put Lux in the cat crate for the car ride and Binx tried to break him out. It was sooo cute (and sad) they were going paw to paw through the cage. Binx looks depressed when we took him out the door! I promised he would be back, but she was just plain old miserable! So that was morning in a nutshell!!
  • I am almost caught up on Parenthood! I have just started watching it last week and I am now on Season 2 Episode 4!!! Great show by the way!
  • I am loving Papa Jacks Popcorn!! Hmmhmm!!
  • We are supposed to head down to the lake this weekend for the first time this year!!!  No we won't be boating, as the boat is not in the water quite yet, but we will get the dock and hut set up!!
  • I am looking forward to spending Easter Sunday with family!!
  • I hope everyone is enjoying my reflections soo far! You can find them all here!!
  • I would really like to get a hair cut, like SHORT, which for me is above my shoulders, but I am going to wait until after the weddings this summer, I think!! (If I can)
  • Last night I sat through 3 hours of training for the Elections.... sooo boring!! Oh the things I sign up for!
I am also going to link up with Goodnight Moon for a song link up!!

I am loving:

California King - Rihanna and Jennifer Nettles

That's all I have got for you today!!

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!! Be safe and have fun!!

Reflection # 4 - Forgiveness

I've learned-
that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

Sometimes life disappoints you, but with that being said, does that mean that you just give up on it?
It doesn't work that way, so why should it work that way with friends.
Just like life, friendship is not easy!

"You've got troubles, I've got 'em too. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you. We'll stick together to see it through cause you've got a friend in me."
- Randy Newman  (link)

Once in your life you will get hurt by friends and let's be honest, you will probably get hurt more than once, those are just the odds! But that is the easy part in my opinion! Yeh, it hurts, but forgiving is the hardest thing you have to do!

I strongly believe that friends come and go in life, but they were there for a reason, whether it works out in the end or not.

I would have never met M, if it hadn't been for a friend that I am not actually friends with anymore.... did that make sense? It sounds complicated, but really it isn't. M and I are the product of a friendship gone bad! We were both friends with this person! There are some things in life that you just cannot forgive and in some cases there are somethings in life that you cannot take back, once the damage is done, there is no going back! I believe that. Not every friendship is worth saving. This friendship was one of them. However, I do not regret having that friendship in the first place, a lot of good things came of it, like M and I. And it was this breaking of friendship that actually made M and I closer. That sounds really bad, so let me just clear up something up here... the friendship did not break up when M and I started dating, it happened 2 years after, after something that the "friend" did. M and I lost respect for this friend together, the incident brought us closer. I don't really want to air out my dirty laundry by going into details of what exactly went down.

I just believe that friend was put into my life to bring me M. I will always be grateful for that friendship believe it or not! Maybe it is all in the way I think about it now. I definitely was not thinking that way when the friendship fell apart because yes, breaking up is hard to do! So I look on the bright side and think this was meant to be. It sucks that I lost a friend in the works, but maybe that was supposed to happen?

Maybe this is going in the wrong direction, but it just goes to show that not all friendships are worth saving.

I think people can be hurt in ways that no one expects. We are fragile beings. Somethings hurt without rhyme or reason! Somethings are done on purpose and somethings are done without even realizing it! A real friend would not hurt you on purpose. One way to think of it is: "If I were friends with myself, how would I feel?" in various situations. We are human, we make mistakes, we apologize and forgive. It sounds simple, but rarely is. Feelings get all caught up in there and can make a big mess!

I constantly find myself asking "what would make me a better friend?"

Forgiveness is hard. We are taught forgiveness from a young age, just as we are taught to apologize. I grew up Catholic. These are a few things that pop into my head about forgiveness:

Mark 6:12 - "Forgive us the wrongs that we have done, as we forgive the wrongs others have done us."

Mark 6:27-37 - "But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you... Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same... But love your enemies, do good... and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful... Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (This is one of my favorites)

Eph 4:31-32 - "Let there be no more bitter resentment or anger, no more shouting or slander, and let there be no bad feeling of any kind among you. Be kind to each other, be compassionate. Be as ready to forgive others as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you."

At no point does it say that forgiving is an easy task, but more along the lines of it being worth it. In the end, we are all sinners at one point, we all need forgiveness at one point or another.

With my friend earlier, I have forgiven her, I have gotten over it. I am still not friends with her, I have not ever spoke to her since the incident, but I can say now to this day, that I forgive her. It will not change things at this point, I am fine with that!
The hardest part of forgiveness is acceptance. It is hard to believe that a friend will hurt you. Forgiveness is not about forgetting was has happened, it is about accepting what has happened and finding away to move past it.

Forgive, forget. Bear with the faults of others as you would have them bear with yours. Be patient and understanding. Life is too short to be vengeful or malicious.--Phillips Brooks (Link)

Remember that you have made mistakes in the past too and you will in the future and you will NEED forgiveness too! It is easy to forget about our own mistakes when dealing with the mistakes of others. But it all comes down to that fact that we are human. Some peoples mistakes are bigger, but nonetheless a mistake that will eventually need forgiven. Maybe not today or tomorrow but in good time. Time will help to heal everything!

Life is too short, and some friendships are not meant to be, but you can still find forgiveness. It will help to heal those open wounds.

Top 2 and Tail Wagging Tuesday!

So this week I will start out with a bit of Tail Wagging Tuesday!!

Head on over HERE to link up!

The topic today is doggie bling!!

My dogs don't actually wear anything most of the time, unless we are out for a walk or at the lake.

Hence why I don't even have a picture of their bling... but I will describe it to you!!

Both of the girls have their own personal ID tags with their names and our phone number on them. Lily's is pink and Gracie's is purple and they are both bone shaped! Lily's color is hot pink and brown stripes and Gracie's is baby pink and lime green.

When you get their collars and leashes out they go crazy! The girls know their collars as "necklaces" lol! They really should wear them when they are at the farm, but they don't.

So I will leave you a picture of the 2 of them!!

Love them to pieces!!

Now for a little bit of Top 2 Tuesday:

The topic today is things you collect!

Head on over HERE to play along!

I will admit my collections go in spurts... so I will go with the latest!

#1 would be BLANKETS!!! I just cannot get enough of them! All different colors, sizes and fabrics. I just cannot resist!

#2 would be sunglasses right now! I see them, love them and then buy them! I lose them like crazy too!

So there we have it!!

Happy Tuesday folks!

Manic Monday

I am back for another Manic Monday coming at ya!! Another busy, yet productive weekend!!

I actually blogged on Saturday about what we were up to and you can find that HERE!! It does include before pictures of my master bedroom and after pictures, but I have not uploaded the latest after pictures of the new floor!! So stay tuned for that!

But let's not get a head of ourselves, we forgot about "FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY"... just had to break out into that silly You Tube song...

Friday, M had to set up the tent at the fire hall for the Fire fighter's breakfast on Sunday. So a few of the fire fighter's wives and some friends decided we would get together over at K's. The guys finally showed up around 10 with some funny stories!!

Saturday we did the bedroom floors! Soooo proud of M!! Thanks to K and J for helping pull the carpet out and get us started and M and J for helping us put the bedroom back together afterwards!!

Sunday morning we had the fire fighter's breakfast. I got home around 1:00 and M around 2:00 PM. I watched some Parenthood (Season 1... just started watching and I love it) and had a nap. When I got up we headed into town for groceries and dinner. We spent the rest of the night relaxing!

Today I am headed to pick up some photo props, visiting M with baby L and then tonight I am babysitting Little G before girls night. I might take some after pics of the bedroom this afternoon!!

How was your weekend? I can't wait to hear all about it!!! Be sure to link up below!!

Renovation Weekend!

So, today is the day we get new floors in our bedroom!!! Bye Bye carpet... hello laminate!!!

I have never revealed our bedroom to you I realize, so I will now!!

Pictures from the old owners:

Yes weren't those curtains fantastic?! Ha!

And a recent picture taken today, before the floors.... I just realized I didn't have one with our old furniture... oppps!

(Excuse the mess, I just wanted to take some quick before pictures so you could see the changes!! Ignore the dust and the bed made improper)

The carpet... burbur to be exact!

Lux wanted to say HI!

So our "new" furniture needs some love!! More to come on that soon!!
Also don't mind my duvet cover, as you all know I have several options, but this is not the typical one...

Stay tuned for the after pictures!!

Friday...

Well my friends, I am far from enthusiastic today, I apologize now! Yesterday was a bad day and that is all I will say at this point. Even when I tried to make it better... by making cookies... I burnt them!! Just not a good day!

If you want to make God laugh, tell him YOUR plans!

Don't take things in life for granted, you cannot predict the future!

Live life to the fullest!

That is my Friday insight...

5 Question Friday!

Head on over HERE to link up!!!

1. What is your favorite sign of spring?
I love seeing the new growth in the garden!! My daffodils have already bloomed!! I also love seeing the robins!

2. What was your best birthday ever?
This one goes to my 25th Birthday! M surprised me with a trip to Niagara Falls, which believe it or not, as a Canadian that lives in Ontario... I had NEVER been!! We had a great weekend!!

We ate at a restaurant called Copa Cobana, which was a Brazilian Steak House... AMAZING!!!

3. What is your favorite dessert?
Hmmm... I love Skor Bar dessert or cherry cheesecake, just to name a few!!

4. What is the best excuse you've ever used to get out of a ticket?
I have never gotten out of a ticket... I actually have not even tried! You might recall this story here...(scroll down for the goods) On a side note, I have only been ticketed by good looking young cops!! I have also only been pulled over twice and both time I got tickets!

5. Do you wake up before your alarm, with your alarm, or after hitting snooze several times?
I hate alarm clocks, I actually hate anything that beeps... like my smoke alarm (that would not shut up yesterday because I almost burnt the house down... and I could not even hide it from M, because it still smelt like smoke when he came home... note to everyone, do not put cookies on the bottom rack, I lost a sheet of cookies because of this! (Luckily 2 trays made it.)). I wake up before the alarm clock, I call it alarm intuition!! M actually personally wakes me up every morning. He wakes up an hour up to two hours ahead of me and hits the snooze button and gets yelled at by ME until he shuts the damn thing off!!!

I'm linking up with Leigh Ashley to share a Wee Bit about me!

{one} have you ever fainted?

Yup, when I was younger I used to pass out in church or after the dentist!

{two} what is your favorite casino game?

I don't really go to the casino, so I guess I will be generic in the term "slots" lol I love board games... does that count!?

{three} do you have a good sense of direction?

Um.... how should I put this... NO!! I could get lost in a corner!!
{four} laptop or desktop?

We have both, but I use the lap top!

{five} what is your go-to hair style when having a bad hair day?

Messy bun... they call it messy for a reason right!?

{six} do you read the newspaper on a daily basis?

Online sometimes, but not everyday!
{seven} do you have a favorite celebrity chef?

No... I should probably try to find one, it might help me become kitchen inclined? Do you know and SUPER easy ones?!
{eight} what TV show would you like to make a guest appearance on?

Hmmm... tough question... if I was not married, I would consider being the bachlorette! Travelling around the world with hot men sounds kind of fun!!

{nine} do you have satellite radio in your car?

No, I do have my Ipod!!
{ten} what was the last movie that made you cry?

Hmmm... Life As I Know It on the airplane ride to Dominican... I was a sap in public, but I was not the only one!

Be sure to check out my previous post for Reflection #3 or you can check them all out at the top!!

Have a great Wednesday!!

Reflection # 3

I've learned-
that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
Trust is a necessity in every relationship for me. Without this staple, everything could fall apart in the matter of seconds.
I believe that you can move past a mistrust, but you will always struggle with trust, once it is broken, you can move past this, but not easily, things will never be the same!. You would never be able to express yourself fully because you would questioning that persons integrity.
"Trust is like a vase, once it is broken, the vase is never the same".
I also believe that you need to be able to trust yourself. Without this, you would always be questioning whether or not you are doing the right thing. You need to be able to know yourself and know your limits, just as you would with a relationship.
In my life, I trust myself. I trust my husband, my family and my friends. But have I learned a few lessons in trust when it comes to my friends? Yes. You need to be able to recognize a true friendship when it is there. Know that if someone does not trust you, you cannot trust them. You don't want to have to question every relationship that you have, but if your instinct tells you that something is off, go with your gut, check it out. You know yourself the best and trust your feelings.
You can not trust everyone in your life, if you do, you should expect to be hurt along the way. With my old job, I trusted that my boss had my best interests at hand. Little did I know he had the opposite in mind. Looking back, I now realize and see the signs of mistrust, but I shrugged it off and thought I was overreacting. Come the last 6 months of my job, I realized that my boss no longer trusted me, which meant I could no longer trust him. I actually do not know if he ever trusted me come to think of it, or if this was just his way of trying to "get rid of me" because I would not participate in something I did not believe in. Things began to spiral out of control rather quickly. Throughout the whole experience, I learned to trust myself, trust my gut. I may be to cautious now when it comes to trusting new people, new employers, etc., but overall, I learned a heck of a lot. Trust and mistrust can do that for you. I sometimes beat myself up for falling into a trap or a bad situation and not seeing the flashing lights along the way, but the only positive thing I can say now is that I learned soo much about trust.
What have you learned about trust?
