Noah's Baptism

Noah was finally baptized on October 26, 2014. The day was pretty perfect if I do say so myself!

Noah's Baptism Invitation:

Noah's outfit:

The blanket and booties were from my baptism and the outfit was Brandon's. We originally wanted Noah to wear M's outfit, but because Noah was 8 months old when we baptized him, I didn't think he could get away with a gown!

Me on the same blanket:

Noah was baptized as an Anglican. We couldn't decided whether to baptize him Catholic like myself or Anglican like M, but decided to do Anglican because we were married Anglican.

With us living at the farm right now, we all got ready and headed to the church. The service was beautiful and they followed through with the few requests we made. We had the priest wear Mike's Grandpa's stole that he wore to marry us. We picked 3 songs to be sang, 2 of which were in memory of our grandparents and the other one was a song that was special to me that I used to sing to my grandparents.

Noah sang during the songs, didn't fuss once and he fell asleep 20 minutes before taking him up to get baptized! When the priest took him to introduce him to the church, he waved as they walked up and down the isle! Too cute!

The children at the church were involved in blessing the water and the gifts they gave us, Hannah lit his candle. He got a board Bible, teddy bear, blanket and his certificates.

I will let the pictures do some talking:

Waving again:

And family pictures (unfortunately my Dad was unable to make it):

Noah's Godparents:

We had everyone back to the farm after the baptism and served lasagna, cesar salad and fresh buns and cake.

a closer look at his banner:

Soo happy with how it turned out!!

This is the outfit we changed him into once we got home! I had a friend make this customized shirt for him!!

It does say his name on it.

And a few in his special suit:

It was a perfect day!!! We were all very happy to celebrate it with family and friends!!

Weekend Rewind

Can we believe we are at the last Monday of October?? Where did this month go??

This weekend zoomed on by as we got ready for Noah's baptism on Sunday!

Friday night I forgot my sister was hosting a One Stop Shop vendor night, so J and I attended. I made out with nothing!! Lots of neat things but I think not being at home doesn't encourage me to buy much right now!

When I got home I helped M make the lasagna for Sunday and then off to bed we went!

Saturday M was busy doing a backhoe job for the fire department and was gone all day! He called me at 5 when he was finished to meet him at the house. During the day I got Noah's banner done and finished the tissue poms! I was pretty happy after all with how the cake table turned out!! We went to the house and collected whatever it was that we needed, our contractor was there cleaning up and it turns out someone called the ministry on them! We have a good idea who it was and clearly it was a waste of their time as they found no problems.

Saturday night we finished the party prep and tidying up and to bed I went! I guess M got a fire call, but I was out like a light and had no clue!

Sunday was the big day!! Noah's baptism!! We were all rushing around the house, getting ready. 4 adults and a baby and one bathroom... But we managed! I will do a completely seperate post on the baptism hopefully this week!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

Yesterday we hit up the pumpkin patch for a few hours of fun with friends yesterday! But first we put on our Halloween outfit:

Sadly enough, as we arrived we came upon the scene of an accident right at the corner of the pumpkin patch which consisted of a family with children. We assume they were headed to the pumpkin patch. Hoping everyone was okay, it is never fun seeing an accident, especially an accident involving kids!

Once we got in, we paid the half price admission and headed for the hay wagon ride! Noah was priceless. He sat right up in his stroller and looked around as we went! Obviously I realize that he is too young to take in all of the activities, but with that being said, I am pretty sure he enjoyed it.

Unfortunately the fritter shack was closed, which meant no apple fritters, so we settled for some pumpkin pie and cider!

Of course we snapped some pics:

We hit up the petting zoo and last but not least, we had to go pick a pumpkin! We bought one big pumpkin and itty bitty one!!

I'm sure if we had gone on a weekend when all of the activities it would have been better, but in all honesty, with the kids at the ages they are, it was nice. I am sure next year they will enjoy it more and have fun playing on the equipment, etc.

The weather was gorgeous and overall it was a fun afternoon!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Thursday's Things

Nothing better than a random post on a Thursday right? Right...

But before we get into that, I just want to take a minute and touch on the events that happened in our province yesterday. Yesterday a Canadian soldier was shot on duty while guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier - a true tragedy and act of terrorism - why we do not know. But a child lost his father, a mother lost his son and the world lost a hero. These things happen in this world, but they tend not to happen HERE! This leaves our province and our country in a state of shock. These men and women put their lives on the line every day for us! This man's family probably assumed he would be safe in our own country, however, it just goes to show that no one really is! Praying for his family, and friends and the protection of those who protect us every single day!

Here we go:

1} I killed a raccoon on Tuesday night. It was traumatic. It was dark. I had just pulled out of the driveway at the farm to go and pick up the girls to head into town for girls night in my MIL's vehicle and heard a huge thump. I panicked, turned around to see what I hit and sure enough a big fat raccoon. I pulled back into the farm to check for damage, which luckily there was none, just my pride. I cried when a bird hit my windshield once... but for some reason I didn't react that way about the raccoon, but I was a bit shook up!

2} My car is broken again... it is making crazy noises that seem to be getting worse! Hopefully M will get it looked at soon!

3} My jamberry nails came in from the party I hosted - 15 sets of nails!!! Needless to say I have plenty of options, on top of the original 4 I ordered!

(two aren't pictured because they are gifts!)

4} Noah is working on teething again and is hit and miss with his moods lately!! We did make it out to Play Group on Monday and Songs and Stories at the library yesterday - both of which he seemed to enjoy!

5} The weather has finally brought us some sun!! FINALLY my roof is getting done!! Open concept anyone:

These guys were fast - new trusses were just about all up by 3:30!!

Birds eye view:

It is very weird seeing my house like this, but I am excited to see progress and after the roof goes up, they can get to work on the inside with no weather delays!

6} I curled my hair with a hair straightener yesterday and actually had success!! And it didn't take long at all!! Of course I failed to take a picture - maybe today!

7} Today we are going to head to a pumpkin patch after all, but with friends instead! The weather is much nicer now and I think it will be a fun fall outting!

8} Noah's baptism is this weekend!! I can hardly believe it is the end of October!! Where did this month go?

9} Speaking of Noah, I will of course share one more serious face of the week:

10} The little man tried grapes yesterday and loved them!!

11} My phone is driving me crazy. I cannot get over how SLOW it is!! I even cleared off all the pictures...

And we will leave off with an odd number today! Just because!

Noah - 8 Months

Weight:
15 lbs 9 oz -  7 months
16 lbs 8 oz - 8 months

Height:
27.5 inches

Sleeping: No complaints in the sleep department! Noah has been spoiling me with sleep ins till 9 AM and his napping is still hit and miss. He is typically ready for bath, last feed and bed by 7:30/7:45 PM

Feeding: Noah is nursing every 3-4 hours, sometimes 5 hour stretches, but more consistently 4 hours! I have given up pumping every evening now. He loves eating solids! As time goes by, nursing in public settings or around others is getting to be pretty challenging, as it distracts Noah. Luckily he enjoys having juice in a bottle or sippy cup now, so that will work during those hard to nurse times! He is not so keen on water yet! We have been struggling with finding a sippy cup that doesn't leak, I finally found a transition cup that can go to a bottle nipple or a sippy cup style which is the latch by munchkin and it doesn't leak!! I also bought a few more avent bottles for juice, as he really likes them - they are just his size!

Foods Noah tried this month:
- chicken
- kiwi
- yogurt
- chickpeas
- turnip
- pumpkin
- vanilla (yogurt)
- strawberries

Clothing: Ugh I pulled out another box of clothes from Noah's drawers that do not fit anymore!! His sleepers are mostly 6 months, but he is starting to get too long for some of them! Much to my surprise 9 month sleepers are fitting him now too!! But with that being said, they are super roomy!! I'm finding 6 month pants are starting to get short, or at least some of them!

Diapers: Noah is still sporting size 2's! But I did by some 3's for the future that I found on sale!

Looks: Blue eyes, and light brown hair.

What The Doctor Had To Say: Noah has hit the 10th percentile for weight, so the doctor is happy to see that, as that is where he was apparently at when he was born. Although we have always been told the 3rd.... But whatever. He is in the 50th percentile for length! He still has a flat spot on his head, but she is not concerned at this point. We go back next month to see both her and the pediatrician.

Nicknames: Stretch, No Nap Noah, Little Bird, Sir, Captain, Mr. Magoo, Mr. Man, Bunny, Little Man,  Mama's Monkey.

Likes: His hands, and he also likes to eat his feet now too! His fleece blankets, his lovey bears, snuggles, his turtle, his exersaucer, walks in the stroller, jolly jumper, Lux, Jazz, Grace and Lily. Noah loves seeing himself. Noah wants to stand all the time now or sit. He loves eating!! He loves reaching and grabbing everything he shouldn't and he loves watching football on Sundays! He also loves the remote control or pretty much anything he should have!!

Dislikes: The snot sucker! Oh boy does he hate that thing! Noah also hates being done eating! This kid would eat non-stop and end up with a huge belly ache if I'd let him, which we did try so see if he was actually still hungry, but nope he will keep going and still cry when finished! He also did not like turnip one bit!

Fur Baby Update: Gracie is more and more interested in Noah everyday, although being at the farm she is super jealous of the attention Noah gets. I think because it used to be her attention! She has been testing me lately while we are here, thinking she doesn't have to listen to me... She will be in for a rude awakening when we go home and a) she has no choice to listen to me (which she doesn't really have a choice here either, but she thinks she does) b) she won't be following Grandma around for extra attention - her name should be shadow! The cats are all the same, although Lux still comes to Noah for attention.

Personality/Events: Noah got his first cold this past month! He is pretty much the happiest sick person I know! Yes, he has his melt downs and short temper, but overall, he was just as smiley as ever despite feeling crumby!

Noah went to St. Jacobs Market for the first time this month too!! It was such a great day, I really think he enjoyed taking in the new sights, and sounds!

We got not one, but two pearly whites at once at 33 weeks, which explained his cranky outbursts! His two upper front teeth are breaking through! The one on the right more so than the one on the left! Poor baby!! All while we were in the process of moving out of the house, which is another thing that happened! We are living at the farm for a few weeks while our back end of the house gets a new roof/ceilings - redone!

Noah outgrew his swing at the farm, it has officially been put away! He thought he could just sit up in it and I feared he would tip out of it! He doesn't even try that in the mamaroo! We are also putting away his bouncy seat, as he sits up in it too!! Looks like my house will be a little less cluttered with big baby stuff, but exchanged for baby toys!

Mommy & Daddy Update: Things are going well. Obviously not being at home has it's challenges, but we are just grateful to have to somewhere to go that isn't a hotel! As much as I said I missed having Noah in our room, now that he is back in our room and isn't sleeping as well, I miss him having his own room, where he would settle himself in the middle of the night, but now knows we are in the same room, so he waits for us to tend to him! Stinker!

We left Noah for a whole afternoon/evening for the first time. We all survived. Although Noah did cry himself to sleep and therefore I was ready to leave the wedding that was an hours away. I know this was good for us in the long run, but there is no way I'm even close to being ready for an all nighter away. I missed him like crazy.
