16 Weeks

How Far Along:
16 weeks

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes. Although I did buy myself a pair of non-maternity fleece lined leggings and LOVE them, so I will be going back for more!! Oh and did I mention they were $6!!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, but I feel like I should be using a cream of some sort, as I feel like I'm growing faster this time around.

Gender?
We will find out in April!

Name?
We will share in April, our girl names are pretty much set, but boy names are very few, I will say we have two contenders and a middle name picked out!

Sleep?
The boomerang pillow I bought is pretty good and does help with staying comfortable longer and helps  me stop tossing soo much! My nose isn't soo bad at night now either, so better sleep is being had all around!!

Cravings/Aversions?
Finally found a vegetable that doesn't upset my stomach - cauliflower!! I wanted fresh baked cookies, so I made some at 9 PM at night to enjoy 15 minutes later!! Soo good!

Movement?
I felt the first real movement while watching the Jays game Monday night!!

Weight Gain:
Not sure to be honest. I think maybe 5 pounds?

Feeling?
Pretty good actually! Getting better sleep is leaving me feeling like I have much more energy!! I feel much better after giving most of the main floor a deep clean on the weekend! Nausea had come back a few times this week and coughing still makes me feel like I'm going to vomit. Skin is breaking out.

What I Miss?
Not a thing! Okay maybe wine after a few stressful moments with a toddler...

What the doctor had to say?
I went back for my follow up and sure enough my blood pressure was high. It was soo frustrating, however, after showing the doctor my home results, he is thinking it's just a case of white coat syndrome at this point, and isn't concerned. If my levels at home start to rise, then he will be concerned. So I am to keep monitoring at home and we go back in a few weeks for our anatomy scan and follow up.

Highlights:
Feeling the first kicks or movement!

Belly Button?
In, but I will say it is getting shallower already!

Seeing Luke Bryan in 1 week!

These posts will be a week behind, as I am now 17 weeks.

And So It Rains

We are under a major rainfall warning today and so far they haven't lied and it is only 8 AM! Luckily we only have the library program to attend around the corner this morning!!

Today I woke up to fantastic news from a dear friend and I didn't get up before 7AM!! Apparently we need more rain days because Noah is still sleeping and it is 8:15 AM!! So Daddy either needs to goto work for 8 more often or something. We have been keeping him up late this week to help with the time change. Only by 30 minutes, but he goes to sleep much quicker. He is pretty much losing interest in his nighttime milk all together at this point, which means I need to get more milk in him throughout the day somehow. He would much prefer water!

I really don't have a whole lot to say today. Homemade pizzas are on the menu for tonight - finally.

The search for a maternity photographer is on! I think I found one last night, but she is increasing her prices for next year significantly, so I am waiting to see what the package price would be for a maternity shoot, newborn shoot, 6 month shoot and 1 year shoot. Hopefully it is still reasonable.

I go to the states Friday to pick up Noah's big boy comforter, which I now fear will be waay to big for his bed... I think I am going to have to make a duvet cover for his toddler bed for now, because I baht a double set, thinking of the next bed he will move into and it's going to swim on the toddler bed I'm sure!! But we will make due and figure it out!!

I also see Luke Bryan on Friday, which I am really looking forward to, especially seeing his tour
schedule for next year, he is only coming to Quebec for his Canada portion of his tour and I won't be driving 8 hours+ for that. The 2-3hrs to the US is just fine. It would be better if his was in Buffalo, because it is closer, but beggars can't be choosers!!

We are heading to IKEA this weekend to get Noah a dresser for his big boy room, a new chair for the table, as he is just about done with his high chair and would much rather sit in a real chair, a bath mat and storage cubes for the great room to hide the TV cords Noah has found and of course more storage - that will have to be kid friendly!

We are up to 8:30 and Noah is just stirring now, so he will be up soon, but wow, monster sleep in!!

Weekend Rewind

Can someone please tell me how my kid can sleep in (like monster sleep ins until almost 9 AM) on weekends but wakes up at 7 AM come Monday morning??? Ahhh!!! Granted he stayed up later on the weekend, but technically he stayed up later last night too!! Monday's are hard enough as it is with unwinding from the weekend, dealing with the toddler hangover and getting back into our regular routine!!

Friday I dropped Noah off at the farm so I could goto my OB appointment. It went well, blood pressure was high again upon arrival, which I found very frustrating, because my readings at home are great. However, my OB looked at my home readings and said he wasn't concerned, it could be just some white-coat syndrome we are dealing with at this point. I am to keep tracking at home and go back in a few weeks for our anatomy scan and then OB appointment right after.

After my appointment I decided to stop at the mall to grab Cinnabon, since it was in the mall, I decided to take a stroll around and that is when it dawned on me - I am not a mall shopper anymore. I found it very frustrating, so after one loop around the mall, I grabbed my Cinnabon (from very rude staff I might mention) and was out of there and off to Costco!

We were having dinner at the farm, so I picked up a nice apple pie from Costco, which I lots of left overs might I mention! I have wanted apple pie since thanksgiving! It didn't disappoint!! Grandma gave Noah some new rubber boots which he actually didn't mind putting on or admiring:

I was super tired by the time we got home and fell asleep while M was bathing Noah! I tried to stay up to watch the Jays game and made it till 10 AM, when M got a medical call. There was a rain delay, so I decided to "watch" it in the bedroom - aka fall asleep and M wake me when the game was over, which they lost so I didn't miss much. They had a amazing season, and should be proud.

Saturday morning we all woke up at 8:50 AM!! It was amazing!! No complaints!!

Although it didn't quite get us off to the early start I anticipated, as we were supposed to be dropping Noah off at 9 AM at the farm for the day. So we were about an hour behind, which was fine, we dropped off Noah, get back home and you bet M gets another medical call. Luckily he wasn't gone too long, long enough for me to enjoy my Cinnabon. He quickly ate his and off to work we went! Here is what we were dealing with:

It has literally been a drop zone for years, a craft room, storage room, you name it room. The day was long, but we did it! We got it pretty much empty!! It was a huge accomplishment!! Up next the wallpaper will be coming down, luckily it is only on the bottom half of the room!! We got rid of 4
bags of donations and one box, 2 garbage bags, 2 recycling bins, and boy does it feel good to see it all leaving!!

We finished around 4:30, I had a quick shower before we headed into town to pick up pizza and I grabbed more leggings from Giant Tiger for just $6 and they worked for my prego belly!! Which speaking of belly... Look how big it was some Saturday afternoon... Not sure what was going on??

It went back down come Sunday, but man I was large and in charge, so it must have been a stretching day or something... This pregnancy is soo different!!

We had pizza at the farm and heard all about the fun Noah had! Noah was crazy after dinner and enjoyed playing hide and seek with Daddy:

But also enjoyed reading with Grandpa:

We got him back home and bed by 8:30 and another sleep in was had come Sunday morning until 8 AM!! Sunday we had Gabe's dedication service in London. We dropped Grace off at the farm and headed there for 11 AM. Noah amazed us with how good and quiet he was during the service!! He got quite a few compliments afterwards too!!

We went back my Aunts afterwards for lunch and celebration, where Noah enjoyed playing the piano:

He was a natural with hand position and posture, as if he had done it before and instead of banging on the keys like most kids, he actually played the keys and it didn't sound horrible!! Might have tointroduce the piano to him sooner than later. He might just play like his mama used to!

We left around 3PM and within 5 minutes little man was fast asleep all while trying to pull his sock off:

We dropped the mattress off at the farm when we got home and we were going to goto Swiss Chalet for M's parents anniversary, but we decided to order take out instead, which was the best decision because when M got there to pick up, the restaurant was swamped and even the take out side was crazy busy!

We enjoyed dinner and a full weekend of NO cooking at home!!

That was our weekend all wrapped up!!

Meal Plan Monday:

Monday: left overs from the weekend
Tuesday: homemade pizzas
Wednesday: hamburger helper
Thursday: a crock pot meal of some sort - more info to come... Haha
Friday: I am eating out and Noah and M will have dinner at the farm

Friday Things

A fun week it has been!!

Felix is back at home and quite happy to be here!! He is exhausted, as I'm sure he didn't sleep much that night. Better yet, Noah sure made him feel welcome and Felix just took it... Nothing like driving your cars on the sleeping cat...

Noah also cleaned my floors yesterday!! I couldn't share just one, because I love them all!! Cutest helper I have and done with a smile!!

Best candy combo ever - all on one bag!!! Go out and get yourself some!! Sour patch kids, caramel buttons, milk chocolate buttons and Swedish fish!! Amazing!!

Today I'm off to London for my OB appointment. Then I will hit up Costco and do a little grocery shopping! We will be having dinner at the farm tonight, so another night of no homemade pizzas. We will have it eventually haha, it's only been on the meal plan for a few weeks now! And then home to watch to Jays play tonight!! Fingers crossed for another win!!

This weekend is a busy weekend. Saturday Noah is going to the farm for the day, he might even have a sleep over if he will tolerate it! He hasn't been good at sleeping anywhere but home or in the car lately. M and I are going to empty out his big boy room so we can start getting it ready to paint. Unfortunately there is wallpaper on the bottom half of the walls which will be fun to take off... But that's not this weekends goal. This weekend we just want to get the room empty of all furniture and stuff!

Sunday we have Gabe's dedication in the late morning/early afternoon. Then hopefully when we get home I can get some editing time in for N's pictures!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Furry Updates

First thing on my mind... Worrying about this guy...

Last night not just 1 of our cats got out, but all 4 thanks to M not shutting the patio door properly when he got home from walking Gracie. It was dark and Lux was the only dead give away as far as his location went, but we managed to find the Binx and Jazz as well. They were all safe inside as it started to rain. But Felix had other plans... When I finally went outside to help M search, I found him, he was sitting still as I approached slowly, however he got spooked and then it became a game. However he made it out of the yard. So M and I went inside to let him calm down. M neighbour messaged me and told me he was on thier deck, so we went back out and searched, found him again, but he was too riled up and just ran. So we went back inside. Not 20 minutes later it started to storm, which he hates, so as much as I expected him home last night, my expectations changed. But I did expect to find him on the deck this morning, but he wasn't there and there was no sign of him in the yard.

I know he was a stray and I'm sure he will be fine, but he is a part of our family now and there is something uneasy about family being missing!!

Update: He is home safe and sound as of 9 AM this morning. Noah and I went out calling him, spotted him, opened the door and had Noah call him again and in he came running right to Noah!! Noah and Felix have a special bond!!

Yesterday was just a hard day. Gracie and I took our first solo trip without Lily to the vet. I lost a few tears on the way there, a few more there when the vet asked about what happened with Lily and offered condolences and a few more yesterday afternoon. It was hard. Gracie is doing fine, but her lady bits still haven't healed up properly, so he gave her some cream to try to heal the skin. Poor girl! She is down 1 pound, which is good, we plan to get her down in weight. I think we both missed Lily a lot yesterday. I miss her every day, but our vet was able to give us some reasoning to why she died, which helps, but it just brings me back to that day, that lonely afternoon. He thinks a tumor must have erupted. Gracie and I survived the trip, we were both a little sad, and we will be. We are still healing over here. Heartbreak is no joke!

We will share in April, our girl names are pretty much set, but boy names are very few, I will say we have two contenders and a middle name picked out!

Sleep?
I've been going to bed early, sleeping not to bad, but tossing and turning quite a bit. I can't seem to get comfortable and have been having a lot of lower back pain and growing pains. Allergies/pregnancy nose issues have been somewhat better, but seem to be hit and miss.

Cravings/Aversions?
Pumpkin pie! I am not usually a pumpkin fan, but the pumpkin pie with whip cream sure was yummy!!

Movement?
I can tell where baby is sitting and I think I felt the first flutter the other night. On the Doppler I can hear the baby going crazy with kicks and what not, but still can't feel them.

Weight Gain:
Not sure to be honest. I think maybe 5 pounds?

Feeling?
Pretty good! Happy Dad is out the hospital and doing well! Headaches are still around, but blood pressure readings have been good at home so far. Tired, but it's been busy to say the least. Felt lots of growing pains and back pain this week.

Weekend Rewind/ Meal Plan Monday

This weekend didn't go quite as planned, but we still managed to get most of the stuff we wanted to get done.

Friday night was girls night, where we of course watched the Jays lose. Hopefully they turn thier luck around today back at home!

M also ended up agreeing to do a backhoe job on Saturday morning, which kind of put a damper on my clean sweep plans. But I knew he needed to get it done and I know he still has one more to do at some point. It's hard with him signing up to do things on weekend where he will be gone for long periods because Noah really depends on that time with Daddy, since he doesn't see him much during the week. The worst part is Noah has come to know that is his time with him too! But we managed. Noah didn't start going squirreley until about 20 minutes before M came home. I did get some laundry folded while Noah had a morning nap - thanks to waking up early of course!

I also discovered when it came time for breakfast that Felix had helped himself to the bagel bag... Such a jack ass cat!! Once a scavenger, always... Luckily the rest of the bag was fine!

Saturday afternoon we did some cleaning, but mostly we just played with Noah. M wanted to go out and rake up some leaves to take down to the yard waste, but it snowed right before Noah woke up leaving everything wet. Yes, you heard me, it snowed. I didn't actually see any until Sunday morning, as I had a nap in the afternoon as well and missed it - aw shucks.

Saturday night I decided to tackle fixing Noah's blanket I made him, it was almost in two pieces thanks to washing with all of Noah's stuff and Velcro on a bib got stuck to it and well... It just wasn't good. I'm definitely not the best repairer, as I had no clue how to even tackle the job, but it's back together and Noah is happy.

Sunday morning we had waffles for breakfast to start our day! I woke up to this:

Luckily most of the snow on the ground had melted by the time I got up at 8 AM! We got ready and headed out to pick up my latest kijiji find, a Ford F150 Power Wheels ride on truck for just $50! After we picked that up we had to head into town, we grabbed lunch, socks for Noah, since his were all getting small and sock season is here, even if Noah is in denial about this and rips them off. Then we hit up Walmart and headed back home. Noah loved eating his sub by himself!

M of course got a fire call for a car roll over, so we dropped him off at the hall when we got back in the village and heard home ourselves after watching the fire trucks leave. It was naptime for Noah once we got home and I got right to work on getting our chili going, as we invited M's parents over for dinner. We also cooked lots of sweet potato I had bought on sale for Noah and got that in the freezer. We finished cleaning the house and boy does it feel good to say the bathrooms are deep cleaned and the dining room is clean. Let's see how long we can keep it this way. It is the hub of the house and ends up being a drop zone.

We enjoyed chili and fresh bread for dinner with M's parents and then headed outside after dinner to show Noah his new wheels!! We were all pretty excited to show him and see how he did with it. At first he was just excited to sit in it, but once we showed him it moved, there was a whole new excitement! It was even better when he figured out he could push the petal himself, but steering is to worked on. He loved it!!

We were planning to get him a new one for his birthday, and we still will, as this one is a single seater, but this one can goto the farm for him to rip around on.

He was pretty wound for sound before bed, playing with Grandma and Grandpa and running circles around the room, but went to bed with no issues, although it did take him longer to settle.

We have been working on wheening Noah off the bottle. He only gets two a day, but he is old enough now to use cups. So we started cutting out the evening bottle, we currently have it down to half a bottle right now, but tonight I might try the cup again, as it went over well this morning. This morning I didn't mention bottle, just gave him a cold cup of milk. He accepted it willingly. I was pretty proud, as we tried this a few months ago and it was a huge failure! My little boy is growing up!!

Meal Planning Monday:

Monday: Chicken Salad
Tuesday: Homemade Perogies from the freezer
Wednesday: Spaghetti
Thursday: Rice and Italian Chicken Thighs
Friday: homemade pizza - we still haven't had this yet!!

{ Friday's Five }

Boy did the weather take a change overnight... We are talking single digits and we may or may not (I'm hoping for may not) see some white stuff this weekend! I hope they are wrong! I'm soo not ready for winter!!

{1} The Blue Jays made it to ACLS. It was a crazy intense game... Our fans need some work when it comes to dealing with their emotions by NOT throwing their beer cans and garbage on other fans or the field... But our team did it!! Couldn't be happier!!

Tonight is the first game of the next series! Let's go boys!!

{2} my sister was able to get us tickets to see the one and only LUKE BRYAN!! We all know how much I love that man!! It's a sold out show and our seats are amazing! In just 2 weeks from today!! Soo excited!! I wasn't going to go because the concert is in the states, it a longer drive, but we got a great deal on the tickets, and we are able to stay at my Dad's girlfriends instead of driving all the way home, so it was just meant to be! Best way to spend that birthday money just sitting on the fridge waiting for something to come up!

{3} this baby growing inside of me might just be a monster... After having growing pains this week, but bump has popped out even more! I wish I had taken a picture the other night, it was like a 6 month bump instead of 3.5!! I know the baby is just small and it is just my body preparing ahead of time, but the baby better not get used to having that much room in there!! With that being said I thinks at have felt the baby last night!! Just a butterfly feeling, not a strong kick, but still exciting
nonetheless!!

{4} we have a weekend with no plans, so here is to hoping we can get a few more things accomplished around the house! Most of the outside stuff is done now, but boy is there a long list for inside!! Next weekend we get to work on Noah's big boy room, getting it emptied out!!

{5} check out these adorable pants from Urban Tot!! I didn't get the best picture and will try again the next time he wears them, but I just love them and they are gender neutral so the next baby can wear them too!!

Noah - 18/19 months

I'm still getting over the fact that I have a year and a half year old!! Slow down time!!

Noah is a growing machine!! Since his birthday he has grown just about 4 inches!! So he did get the tall gene from his parents - clearly! He is weighing 29-30 pounds. So despite growing in length his weight is sticking around the same!! I will say you totally know you're carrying 30 pounds extra when lifting him!

This past month Noah's language has taken right off. He is trying to talk more and more, with a few sentences - "I do it", "I can't do it". His words are becoming soo much clearer, but you can tell when he gets frustrated when we can't understand what he is saying and in his mind it makes the the most sense!! He loves pointing out farm animals, trucks and tractors when in the car. This age is ever changing so quickly!!

In just a few weeks, Noah went from no interest in blocks aside from throwing them to now sitting down and building with them!  But his favorite is definitely cars, trucks and tractors!! He still plays with his little people too!

He still loves his dogs and kitties, he has been loving snuggles and sitting with mama. He has started to clue in about the baby by saying baby and pointing to my belly, or lifting up my shirt. He is also pretty excited to see friends babies as well. He will watch Thomas the Train, but only partial interest in Sesame Street or Curious George. He also loves commercials! He seems to think Grandpa is on the Joe commercial lately!

Diaper changes are still the worst part of Noah's day and as he gets bigger and stronger, they are becoming more challenging to say the least! Temper tantrums are another not so fun part of this age as he is learning his feelings. He tends to have quite the temper, which we joke around saying it is from his Grandpa V! We are implementing time outs, which seem to help most days, but he usually starts to act out when he is either tired or hungry!

We had mastered the sleep training and now Noah will put himself to sleep at nap time and bedtime!! However that has changed yet again. We have a set back since coming home from out west, but are trying to get back on track. Teething is our biggest issue right now and our main cause for the set back. I'm happy to say we are back to self soothing and his teeth have calmed down for the time being! Noah will goto bed around 7:30 pm and wake up around 7:30 am now. He will nap for about 1.5 - 2 hours once a day. There has been the odd time where he has waken up early and will end up with a 30 minute morning nap to take the edge off and then a shorter afternoon nap. Over the last few weeks we have also eliminates the soother, allowing him to have it in bed only!

Noah is a busy little boy, who loves swimming, and his skills have improved over such a short period of time. He will swim by himself, with his puddle jumper on now, blow bubbles, kick his feet and loves being dunked. Crazy to see how quickly his skills have developed, but we couldn't be prouder!

Noah loves playing outside, going for walks, playing in the park - the swings are still his fav! Inside he loves his ride on toys, his tent, blocks, tractors or vehicles lol and books of course. He loves to climb and has just figured out jumping after practicing over the last month.

This little boy is changing every single day and it is such a fun age - minus the temper tantrums of course. It's a big learning curve going on over here with the temper tantrums and hearing the word NO. He also thinks getting up on the back of the couch to turn off and on the lights is a lot of fun, but too dangerous for this mama.

We went through a few tough weeks, but we are generally back to good days together. We have various activities we are doing weekly, like play groups on Monday and the library program on Wednesday. Friday mornings he usually spends with Grandma so I can do some running around child-free.

I will say that this age is soo much fun.

13 Weeks/14 Weeks

How Far Along:
13 weeks

Size Of Baby?

Or a jalapeño pepper
Or a clownfish

Maternity Clothes?
Yes and no. I can still fit into my regular pants, but maternity pants are soo much more comfortable, so that what I choose! Shirts are mostly non-maternity as well, but I am starting to pull some out now that the cooler weather is here

Stretch Marks?
Nope

Gender?
We will find out in April!

Name?
We will share in April, our girl names are pretty much set, but boy names are impossible!

Sleep?
Not great! My allergies are the real culprits behind this, just when I think they are getting better, they don't.

Cravings/Aversions?
Carbs, carbs and more carbs. I thought I wanted sweets at the beginning of the week, but turns out I could careless about them! But the sour patch kids were yummy! Still not loving water!

Movement?
I'm not feeling kicks or anything, but I can definetly feel where the baby is sitting, as it feels like pressure in a certain spot, especially when the baby tries to wedge in a corner.

Weight Gain:
Not sure to be honest. Maybe a few pounds.

Feeling?
Pretty good! Somewhat stressed with all my dads health concerns and him being in the hospital. Headaches are back and due to my dads health scare, I lost almost a full nights sleep, so I have been napping trying to catch up on that. Headaches are back, but blood pressure is reading good at home!

What I Miss?
Nothing! I seriously loving being pregnant!

Highlights:
My bump is popping more now for sure and that is always nice to see!! It's still an awkward stage, but I'm choosing to embrace it and love dressing the bump!

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes and no. It's that annoying inbetween stage where my maternity pants are falling down constantly, aside from my few new pairs, yet regular jeans fit but just aren't comfy!

Stretch Marks?
Nope

Gender?
We will find out in April!

Name?
We will share in April, our girl names are pretty much set, but boy names are still impossible!

Sleep?
Is improving and less wake ups during the night helps too!

Cravings/Aversions?
Fountain Coke! Soo weird, being as I hate dark colored soft drinks! But man does it ever taste good!!
Sour patch kids are still delicious, along with nachos and salsa and chips!

Movement?
Not yet, but like I said last week, I can tell where baby is sitting.

Weight Gain:
Not sure to be honest. Maybe a few pounds.

Feeling?
Pretty good! Somewhat stressed with all my dads health concerns and him being in the hospital.  Headaches are back, but blood pressure is reading good at home! Napped most days when I could this week! Also went to bed early mist nights.

What I Miss?
Nothing! I seriously loving being pregnant!

What the doctor had to say?
Blood pressure was a little high in the office, not that I'm overly concerned, I had just walked to the hospital quickly from my Moms, and didn't get a chance to rest before they took it, so I'm chalking it up to that, since it came down before I left. Not to mention my Dad's health issues causing some stress I'm sure. But he is being aggressive this time around and wants to recheck in 2 weeks with me checking at home daily. So we go back in 2 weeks for a quick check and then Nov. 13th for our anatomy scan and check up.

Highlights:
Seeing my OB again, but for the first time this pregnancy! Found out my cousin is expecting as well and is due 2 weeks ahead of me.
