Thursday Things

As you can see, things are looking a little different around here, as I have been working on a bit of a blog design overhaul! It's a work in progress as you can see and I know I will have some updated pics taken in the next coming weeks with the baby arriving, so I am waiting to update my header and about me section! Its been almost 2 years since I have changed things up on this little blog of mine, so a fresh look was much needed!

Today I have what should be my last OB appointment before my C-section next week! You will have to bear with me, I am trying to get some posts scheduled for next week, but no promises. I am not too sure how long it will take me to get back into the swing of things post baby, but I know it is something I will strive to do, as I love being able to look back on our life documented!

Yesterday was a challenge day for Noah, which I fully anticipated this week, as there is always one after a long weekend. I'm really going to have to do some soul searching for patience though once this new baby is thrown into the mix, because man when those listening ears going missing, it sure is challenging.

My new lamps... so glad I ended up with them! They really do work great in our bedroom and I have decided to stop searching for a new dining room lamp and will just use the old one from our bedroom! As you can see via the picture, we have some wall touch ups to do, but in all honesty if I ever get around to getting my new headboard made, it would cover those marks right up, or I will end up painting the whole room, which is something else I am considering! Shhh... don't tell Mike!

Speaking of DIY projects, my Dad came over last night to help me out with Noah's wood plaques for his room. He is going to wood burn a few pieces for me! Then I can finally get his bedroom reveal up and posted! Clearly Noah enjoyed his visit. He is such a Grandpa's boy with both Grandpas!!

Tuesday night we had a little impromptu date night at the pub here in the village! It was wing night, so we figured it would be busy, turns out it wasn't and Noah totally could have joined us, but we all know he had fun with Grandma and Grandpa for a few hours! Not to mention I took him a bit early and let him drive his new (to us) tractor.

Not much else to report for today! It's a rainy day, but I will take it over snow!!

Influenster Review: L'Oreal Color Radiance

It's been a while since I have had the opportunity to do a review for Influenster, so when I was selected for this product review, I was more than willing to oblige.

The funny thing with Influenster, is that you never really know what you are getting when you are selected. I was excited to see the box in the mail and couldn't wait to open it up to see what I got.

When I opened up the box, I was excited to see hair products because in all honesty I'm not someone to just buy a new product to just try, I stick to what I know or what I have heard is good!

The fact that I dye my hair often made this product really appeal to me. So here is my honest opinion and granted this is my opinion have the initial use.

First impression was that the products smells good, however seeing that it was a 3-step process did not exactly appeal to me being a mom, who needs to shower quickly for the most part!

But I gave it a try, starting with the shampoo, as I mentioned it smelt great and after I rinsed it out my hair did feel silky, not stringy like some other products I have tried.

Up next was the instant miracle - this was probably my favorite product of the 3. The smell was even better than the rest. You put this product on and rinse it immediately, so no time wasted waiting for it to sit. My hair felt amazing afterwards, to the point that I didn't even want to put on the conditioner. Because I wanted to complete the full review, I did apply the conditioner next, but I will be trying the products without the conditioner just to see. It took the tangles outs and everything.

I applied the conditioner and my hair didn't feel as silky as it did after using the instant miracle. After showering I blow dried my hair and found the frizz to be at a minimum. My hair did feel soft and it did dry quickly. I also found that it was not a product that weighed my hair (which is thin and light weight) down, especially being a 3 step process. I didn't find my hair greasy after using the product either.

So would I reccomend these products? Yes! I haven't checked out the price point of the products, but L'Oreal is usually affordable.

If anything try the instant miracle product.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for my honest opinion.

38 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
38 Weeks - officially the furthest along I have ever made it pregnant!! Welcome uncharted territory!!

Size Of Baby?

Maternity Clothes?
Yes, but if I'm not going out, you bet I'm in pj pants!

Stretch Marks?
Nope, trying to remember to put oil on at least once a week or more now because I'm nervous they might come this time since I'm soo much bigger!

Gender?
We will find out in 1 week!! How crazy is that.. Just one week away!

Name?
We will share in 1 week!! Our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Not great. Getting up often to pee and rolling over is definitely a process that requires waking up for!

Cravings/Aversions?
Canned peaches! I also made cherry cheesecake this past weekend and I'm not complaining

Movement?
Baby's movement is less crazy, a little slower, more like a baby now. Lots of rolling, hiccups and somersaults, but still breach!! Baby also dropped a bit this week, so the head is no longer up in my ribs, but I have elbowed it on my side a few times, as s/he seems to like lying across me now!

Weight Gain:
33 pounds! Still under my total gain with Noah, yet soo much bigger!!

Feeling?
Anxious to meet this little one! Heartburn is still kicking around, but a bit better since baby has dropped a bit. I actually feel a little smaller now that the baby has dropped a bit as well!

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
Feels soo weird not needing anything really for this baby and having gender neutral stuff already. I will say I bought more girls stuff this pregnancy and will be taking a boy and girl outfit to the hospital this time.

The replacement diaper pail came in the mail and we bought the baby a scale to weigh the baby at home, since the service is no longer offered in our area. It was something we really enjoyed with Noah, so we justified it!

What the doctor had to say?
Blood pressure was high at my appointment, I didn't feel great, so my OB ended up sending me down to triage for monitoring and blood work. I ended up with a small amount of protein in my urine, but baby did well with the non-stress test and my blood work came back fine. My OB said my wheels are wobbling on my wagon, and that I need to take it easy!

Highlights:
Celebrating Easter with our families.

Enjoying family time just the 3 of us, as much as possible lately. I'm sad my days with just Noah and I are coming to end, but soo excited to add in this baby as well. It's a big change for us all and I am excited to experience it, but I will miss my days with Noah!

Belly Button?
In, but part of it pops out when I laugh. Soo creepy!

Looking Forward to:
Meeting this baby!! Finding out the sex!!

Icey Easter

Wow, we survived this past weekend and I am still pregnant!!

Let's rewind back all the way to Thursday... The ice storm. Luckily the roads were not bad and we were still able to get Gracie to her grooming appointment. That definetely made this mama happy because the groomer was booked solid all of April if I couldn't get in on Thursday and Grace needed to be groomed something fierce. Right before leaving the house around 10 AM, the power went out. Mike had started getting fire calls for lines on fire around 6 AM, so I had got up and turned the heat up just in case.

I dropped Noah off at the farm, headed to drop off Gracie, picked up my sister and we grabbed some groceries and lunch. Gracie was a trooper for her appointment and looks fantastic all cleaned up!!

I stopped at home before heading to the farm to see if we had power and to drop off the groceries and sure enough our power was still out! It was estimated to come back on by 8 PM. So we had dinner at the farm, came home to grab bedtime stuff for Noah just in case. Then the power went out at the farm too! Luckily M was able to get the generator going just intime for bath time and we eventually put Noah to bed at the farm.

The ice storm was not easing up, the roads were still fine, but the trees were covered in ice and only getting thicker as more rain came down. So around 11:30 I made the call that I was going home to sleep and M would stay at the farm with Noah. I prefer to sleep when it is cool anyways, so Gracie and I headed home where I would be more comfortable.

Turns out a transformer blew around the corner from me and the road ended up getting shut down, so I had police lights in the windows all night, along with various hydro trucks flashing their lights. I probably got the same amount of sleep I normally do as of late - which isn't much lol.

I headed back to the farm in the morning, Noah was a bit cranky, but we just had to distract him. So Grandpa read him one of his favorite books.

After breakfast M and I ran home to get stuff out of the fridge before it spoiled and checked the basement for water. Luckily no water and the freezers were still good, so we just had one basket of food to take to the farm. When we got back to the farm Noah was out with Grandpa, off to town for something.

When the got home we decided the ice storm wasn't going to hold us back from our Easter fun, so we got right to painting eggs! I will say this entertained Noah longer than I expected it to. We all had fun painting eggs together before lunch time. It was around this time that our power came back on at home. So we waited until after lunch to head home before nap time so that the house would have time to warm up from the lovely temp of 11 degrees!

Our road was closed by the police, but we were still able to go home luckily. The village is just a mess with limbs and trees down, hydro lines, etc.

We put Noah down for a nap and I ended up napping as well. Turns out we slept a lot longer than planned and didn't have time to decorate the cookies as we had planned! Oops!!

Saturday night we folded laundry, vegged and I got out my crocheting basket and did up a few dishcloths, as my uncle mentioned he needed a new one! M and I hit up the hot tub before heading to bed!

Come Saturday morning I felt such relief! The baby had dropped a bit!!

We headed to the village Easter a Egg hunt! Noah had a great time. He picked up eggs one by one! It was chilly, but the weather was better than last year!!

While Noah napped, we made cherry cheesecake for our family dinner at my aunt and uncles. Once Noah woke up it was party time! And this little man was ready to party!!

This was his Easter outfit for this year!

We got to meet my cousins new little guy named Hunter. Noah was soo cute with him. Here are all the cousins together:

And prepare yourself for baby fever... Thank goodness our baby is due any day, because I would want a baby otherwise right away after seeing these:

Noah got to practice his big brother skills and man did it melt my heart!! It makes me look forward to introducing him to his new sibling! Luckily it won't be long now!!

Another late night for him, but he is a trooper.

Sunday morning we set up Easter eggs all throughout the main floor! Noah had soo much fun hunting up the eggs!

Up next was his Easter basket! He found Peppa Pig, peppa pig books, the fisher price airplane and a fort building kit! Peppa Pig was a huge hit:

His evil little smile...

In all honesty, Noah just had a rough morning. He played well with his new toys, but potty training was a disaster and his sassy attitude was in full force after 3 busy days off schedule. I managed to get the baby's bag packed, most of mine packed, aside from the stuff I will have to throw in, like hair brush chargers, etc.

After lunch we decorated Easter cookies, but first we tried out the bubble wrap that came in the box!

This bubble wrap gave him quite a bit of entertainment even after we decorated the cookies.

I think Daddy was in shock with how much sprinkles and icing this little man conned his way into. He's got moves!!

All done!!!

After nap we headed to the farm for Easter dinner, which included Grandpa's very own Easter egg hunt!!

Noah loved hunting up the eggs and would shout out "I see an egg" and go running! He was not a fan of the nesting though and would end up making Grandpa dig out the small eggs from it!

Too busy looking to stop for a picture!!

We were lucky enough for a nice warm day too!! Here is Noah with Grandma and Grandpa:

And our family picture:

We decided Noah needed to stay outside until dinner was ready to run off some of his sugar, so he ran up and down the barn hill, quad rides and of course Kubota rides!

My Dad came for dinner too!! Noah was on cloud 9 with both Grandpas and the Kubota! He is such a grandpas boy!! Check out this silly grin....

And for the proper pic haha:

Dinner was great, we had ribs and baked potatoes with fresh green beans and cherry cheesecake. Noah was seriously spent and his sass was coming back, so we let him go for one more Kubota ride and headed home for tubby time and then bed. It didn't take him long crash at all!!

Needless to say I am pretty sure today is going to be a gong show, as I intend to get back on track with our schedule. But he does tend to surprise me, so we will see. It's supposed to rain all day, so we will cooped up a bit, but I'm hoping for the best!!

Sweet Baby V2 - What Will You Be

I will start off by saying as much as I wanted to find out with my first pregnancy, with this one, I wanted to know even more. We actually almost did find out, as our doctor actually does have the sex documented!

Boy names are figured out, girl names are not quite set and we seem to be struggling with them more this time, where as last time boy names were hard.

How does this pregnancy compare to my last? It is waaay different. Baby is carrying soo differently. Noah was always low low low and tucked in a corner, this one is as high as it can get and straight up my middle. I had a lot of nausea with this pregnancy.

With less than two weeks left, I am curious to hear what you all think this baby will be!!

On To The Wives Tales:
Chinese Gender Prediction says:

BOY

Mayan Gender Prediction Theory says:

BOY

How I Have Carried:

High = GIRL
In front = BOY

Skin:

Acne = GIRL
Dry Skin, cold feet = BOY

Baby's Heart Rate:

GIRL

Appetite:

GIRL

Daddy's Weight:

Boy - Daddy worked out during this pregnancy!

Morning Sickness:

Girl

Mood Swings:

GIRL (poor M)

So that tallies up to:
6 GIRL votes
5 BOY votes.

Noah swears it is a girl and will argue if you say it is a boy. He is adamant no matter which way you ask him!

I think girl this time, M is afraid to say it out loud, but also thinks girl.

What do you think Baby V2 will be?

Wondering how things looked with Noah? Look back HERE

Mid-Week Ramblings

I was considering a What I Love Wednesday post, but decided to share a few of my midweek random thoughts!

Let's talk cooking... I'm over it lately.mimnot sure if it's just the pregnancy phase I am in, where big meals don't appeal to me, or what. But I've lost the desire for making dinner. We have tried a few new recipes, but honestly, none that I would make again, like a chicken bacon ranch casserole we made for  Monday - I ate it, but was not a fan, luckily Noah gobbled it right up!

Even my classic meals, like Italian chicken and rice for example aren't hitting the spot. We are in a dinner slump, which sucks right before having a baby! We did make some freezer hashbrown casserole, chili and lasagna, but even those don't sound appealing to me right now! I am a picky eater, I don't pretend to hide that, so trying new recipes is hard, but what are some of your go-to's? Help this mama out!!

Today I am off to the OB's again and then I have some running around to do, including picking up a new-to-us double jogging stroller. We bought a sit and stand used, but HATE it! Luckily we didn't pay much for it, as I plan on just donating it.

Fingers crossed I can get Miss Gracie in for a spa day THIS week, otherwise I'm waiting well until after baby is born.

Last night I was up most of the night with this dreadful heartburn/reflux. It was horrible and nothing was happening!!

And because a post is not a post without pictures, I will share what we did yesterday!!

I looked over in the morning and saw this - isn't it the sweetest??

Lux was actually loving it - for like the first time ever haha. Ever since we rehomed Felix he has been soo bored and "lonely" even though we have 2 other cats. So seeing him enjoy time with Noah was soo cute!!

We headed to the farm for lunch, once I wrangled Noah in the house, he saw the table set and was excited. He climbed right up in his chair and saw a bowl of onions and took one big bite. I was going stop him, but then thought this is a good lesson to be learned to not just eat anything. He tried to like it, but ended up spitting it out in my hand and needed a drink. Silly kid!

He did get to try hot dogs for the first time, which will be a special treat in his eyes, since we don't cook them at our house.

After lunch we played for a bit before heading out for our kobota ride and the. We headed home for a nap.

Less than 2  weeks to go and this baby will be here!!

37 Weeks with Baby V2

How Far Along:
37 Weeks - officially the furthest along I have ever made it pregnant!!

Gender?
We will find out in 2 weeks!!

Name?
We will share in 2 weeks! Our names are pretty much set, I did add in one more girl name that M is in love with, but I'm on the fence!

Sleep?
Not great. Naps are when I have them though. Baby is still sitting super high, so it is hard to get comfortable at bedtime. Bathroom breaks are also at an all time high now as well!!

Cravings/Aversions?
Two-bite brownies over and over please, oh and skim milk too!

Movement?
Baby's movement is less crazy, a little slower, more like a baby now. Lots of rolling, hiccups and somersaults, but still breach!!

Weight Gain:
31 pounds! Still under my total gain with Noah, yet soo much bigger!!

Feeling?
So incredibly tired still, but feeling soo happy to have made it this far along!! Baby is still up in my ribs, but feeling a lot of pelvic pressure, likely from the excess fluid I'm carrying! I'm starting to get nervous about my csection!!

What I Miss?
Sleeping comfortably.

Items Bought for Baby:
A new drying rack for bottles and pump parts! We went with the boon grass one because it's smaller than our old one!

What the doctor had to say?
Meds are controlling my blood pressure so far! We got our csection date, so we are anxiously awaiting that. Baby is still breach. I ended up waiting over an hour for thus appointment, caught a cold in the waiting room, so clearly I wasn't impressed.

Highlights:
The to-do list is just about completed! I started packing our bags, we discussed our plan for Noah with Mikes parents, so that eases my mind. Just have my pump and parts to sterilize and finish packing my bags! I'd like to get the freezer cookie dough done too, but just haven't got around to it!

To celebrate making this far, here is the big old bare belly!! Soo large!!

Belly Button?
In, but part of it pops out when I laugh. Soo creepy!
